Saban becomes television villain

Saturday, January 24, 2009

The writers for the hit TV series "CSI: Miami" took a shot at a former sports figure from that city's professional sports teams in a recent episode.

With all of the names to choose from, who do you think they picked?

It wasn't Dan Marino.

And it wasn't Pat Riley.

And it wasn't Jose Cabrera.

The show's writers chose the name "Saban" to play the villain. Of course, the good guys prevailed and Saban was arrested and sent to prison.

You have to wonder if actor Rex Linn suggested that the writers use Saban's name. Linn, who plays Detective Frank Tripp on the show, is a diehard University of Tennessee football fan. Linn always wears a tie on the show that has orange on it.

Wonder who the writers' next target might be?

Richt?

Meyer?
