Yea, it does disappoint me when we've been loyal to the kid for a good 3 years, and he pulls something like this. He's a big talent, and you guys need offensive talent in the worst way.

The only one you should be disappointed with is your coaching staff. They seem to think they own these kids and they aren't allowed to visit wherever they want. Sounds like you guys cut ties, not the other way around. Quit being arrogant and you can quit being disappointed.

Your offense does suck, and I don't know why I wouldn't be disapointed in a kid who couldn't get his act together, yet our staff sticked w/ him throughout the process only to sneak away for an official visit to a conference rival. It sucks losing a highly touted player, plain and simple.

I'm saying your coaching staff has the "no other visits" policy. If you didn't want to lose him, change your policy. Its not our fault. I agree, we probably need him worse than you do. But to whine on our board when your coaches are turning kids away for taking visits irritates me.

Interesting choice of words there, Geaux. Unintentional to imply you need a rope to really hold on them? And ... isn't Benton the one that's doing the "cutting?" Sign & place guys are always a risk because they aren't bound by anything to sign with the original school. AU has lost their share of blue chippers as well. Enrique Davis to Ole Piss is the latest example. He wasn't the first & won't be the last, either.

I will give you credit for already having loads of talent. If anything, the bowl game win demonstrated that LSU finally found a QB that can lead the team. I'll go on record right now as saying LSU will be in Atlanta representing the West next year.

I don't think you can blame the kid. None of us are new to this recruiting game. It sucks to lose one you've been after but LSU is the one that restricted an unsigned kid's actions. You forced his hand. It's an eye-opener to a recruit when you lock them down without them being officially committed. You keep some recruits by doing it, but you lose some as well.

Anyway, our offense at least showed the potential to be explosive, unlike the Franklin Fiasco. If Jefferson loks anything close to what he did against Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Ga. tech, I'd be very afraid.

The thing is, they haven't signed with LSU this year. You guys are special, but not so special that you are allowed to sign before everyone else.

And he told the staff before that he was visiting and they nixed the trip. So this time he didn't. You know, why would he when it's what he wanted to do and he got a hard time about it before.

Trust me, I would love a policy where if you send a sign and place guy to prep school then you have the option of keeping him the next year. There are a lot of kids playing for other teams right now that were sign and place guys with Auburn.

And it's probably not a real good idea for southern football fans to use euphemisms about ropes and young black athletes, just saying.
