ATTENTION RUNNINGBACK RECRUITS

In the last 30 years, only Michigan and Nebraska have fielded more 1000-yard rushers than Auburn.

Every Auburn running back that has rushed for 1000-yards has been drafted into the NFL.

Joe Cribbs

James Brooks

Bo Jackson

Brent Fullwood

James Bostic

Stephen Davis

Rudi Johnson

Ronnie Brown

Carnell Williams

Kenny Irons

Since 1970, 22 Auburn running backs have been drafted into the NFL.

Not included in the above list of 1000-yard rushers but good enough to be drafted into the NFL:

Mike Zofko

Williams Andrews

Chester Willis

George Peoples

Lionel James

Tim Jessie

Tommy Agee (FB)

Reggie Ware (FB)

James Joseph

Kevin McLeod (FB)

Fred Beasley

Heath Evans (FB)

During this current decade, an Auburn running back has rushed for 100-yards in a game on 54 occasions.

Gus Malzahn will be the offensive coordinator at Auburn for the 2009 season. He also believes in a strong running game. In 2006 as the offensive coordinator at Arkansas, the Razorbacks had thirteen (13) 100-yard games by a running back. In 2007 as the offensive coordinator at Tulsa, the Golden Hurricane had eight (8) 100-yard performances and eight (8) again in 2008.

There is a reason why many consider Auburn, “Running back U” and you now have the opportunity to carry on the tradition.

Stat - We take it for granted that everybody else knows, but we are where the cleats dig in the dirt! WAR EAGLE!!!

Titan - Love the Willis Traitor avatar- He is a deadbeat and good riddance. I live in Jackson, MS and frequently drive 80 to the Gump in order to avoid taking 20 through that deadbeat-zone... what if I needed gas or a kid needed a bathroom break??

Tony Richardson (undrafted free agent) missed the drafted list (NFL War Rooms missed the boat), but has enjoyed a long NFL career.

What? 14 years and counting? Between the checks he's currently making and what he will gain from the NFLPA retirement, he could hang up the cleats today and live in luxury for the rest of his life. Not too bad for a guy who nobody knew until his senior year.

Good stuff Stat, as usual. I hope some of the RB prospects actually read this thread, but I doubt it. If they did, they'd have to consider us seriously. :cheer:

I'm quite certain that none of you responding to this thread are RB recruits and thus this thread was not addressed to you. :)

my son (see avatar) has verbally commited for the 2024 class. he's probably going to be a TE or a guard though. not quite graceful enough to be a RB.

*Don't forget about Brandon Jacobs, I know he ended up transfering, but I think we can count him.

Looking back at the 2003 lineup it's pretty amazing. 1st String Caddilac, went on to start for Tampa Bay; 2nd String Ronnie Brown, went on to start for Miami; and 3rd String Brandon Jacobs, went on to start for Giants and win Super Bowl. This might be the best college lineup at RB in history!
