Jamie Newberg said once that he didn't put a lot of stock in Auburn's recruiting ranking because CTT seemed to coach up players that were not highly sought after. He also mentioned CTT ability to take walk on players and turn them into all SEC talent.

The rankings (to me) look great, the question is, will CGC and staff coach them up? I see no reason why this staff won't be better than the BBQ boys in this capacity.

But I merely speculate via Navy and Orange spectacles

I am wearing the same glasses, but I think...nay, expect to see the offensive skill players being coached up 150% better than with the previous staff.

However, I wonder about the defensive staff as a whole. I expect to see very good things from the DL, but the linebackers and defensive backs are currently a question mark in my book.

I agree on the offensive side. We will have much better coaching at our skill positions and I expect that to show immediately only the field.

As far as defense goes, I'm not too worried about it, actually. The staff is a question mark but Chizik isn't. Saban, for example, has had a dominant defense everywhere he went because he is a defensive minded coach. Tuberville put great defenses on the field because he was a great defensive coach, even through having what felt like 13 different coordinators. Chizik will be the same. He has proven he has a great defensive mind and I feel if the defense waivers, he'll get as hands-on as he needs to. He doesn't strike me as a "manager" the way Tuberville was.
