Once again, its proven prejudice and racism is OF the South, not FROM the South

Maybe Ted Turner should speak for himself.

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Hailey Woldt put on the traditional black abaya, expecting the worst.

The last time she'd worn the Muslim dress that, with a head scarf, covered everything but her face, hands and feet, she was in Miami International Airport, where the stares were many and the security check thorough.

This time, she was in a small town called Arab. Arab, Alabama, no less.

"I expected people to say, 'What is this terrorist doing here? We don't want your kind here,' " said Woldt, a 22-year-old blue-eyed Catholic, recalling her anticipation before stepping into a local barbecue joint. "I thought I wouldn't even be served."

This is really no different than 20/20 or whoever sending people dressed in Muslim garb to Talladega. NASCAR or the Speedway didn't make a big fuss of it, like they should have.

A Muslim going to a barbecue joint,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, "You want the pulled pork or the pork ribs or BBQ pork plate?" :)

I've always seen young people from outside the south as being much more racist than young people in the South.

I didn't know Cathlics had to wear them things. I thought Nun's faces were uncovered.

I'm all for them doing this. Now go to other countries dressed as an everyday American and see what happens. Then come back to me. If you still have a head.

When will we see America and Americans as first and foremost?

Many of us understand our place in life. As a white man, I do not go downtown Atlanta after dark and get off the main streets. Why? Because I realize that in THIS world, out of place things get noticed. And many times not in a good way. For someone to pull a stunt like this is really a slap in the face to all "life savvy" people. There are just some things you don't do. Had this woman been beat down, would she have proved that the southern folks were racist, or just wary of dying? There are just some things you do not do. People are killed every day in a major city by being in the wrong place, do you see dumb-asses like this hang out in those places after dark? I don't think so. And as soon as they did, they would be called racist for trying to provoke an attack.

And I don't think a true Catholic would pull a stunt like this. Catholics are taught to help people, not deceive them. (well for the most part anyway)

I tell the animal rights people all of the time, don't come tromping through my woods during hunting season, it's not safe. Well, some folks need that same lesson in other areas of life.
