Cantor’s Office Responds: Video Depicting AFSCME Members As Goons

Updated below with call on Cantor to apologize.

This isn’t going to make the big unions very happy. GOP House leader Eric Cantor’s office has come up with an intriguing response to the AFSCME ad bllitz targeting GOP leaders: Sending over a video that portrays AFSCME union members as 1970s-era goons.

Cantor spokesperson Brad Dayspring emails me the vid, stressing that it’s meant as a joke:

With all of the real problems going on right now this is what you guys find scandalous?

You have seen the poll numbers, they have to do this to try and cover their asses. Anything to get some type of diversion from their boondoogles and power grabs.

Well....OBAMA made a great point/comment yesterday in Florida. He stated that if he fails, replace him (give or take a few words).

Of course, once the census/restructuring of the districts are over, the country will be taken.

I never understood this argument people use about Congress. First of all, it's an entertaining article. If this forum was only for posting topics that are THE most important of the day, we could delete about 75-80% of the topics. Second, its not like Congress only works on one thing of a time - people made similar arguments during the steroid hearing. There are 435 members of the House; multiple topics can be covered at once.

Finally, lighten up - I actually thought the video was pretty damn entertaining. However, the unions, not so much.

Unions are useless to their members. It's all about power. Nothing more. Unions have no place in America today. They drive up costs and drive down demand.

Ummm, okay. You want congress working on whether Cantor's office sent an old ad to rivals? Forget the massive spending underway to discredit Dem opponents in congress.

I'm sure the video made you chuckle. Analdobru thought it was so funny it reminded him of some job-loss numbers.
