bigsixfive 341
Looks like Reid is getting his long awaited wish. Federal funding for something the states of CA and NV should finance, since they are the only ones that benefit from it. In late-stage talks (i.e. BACKROOM DEAL), Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., pressed for $8 billion to construct high-speed rail lines, quadrupling the amount in the bill that passed the Senate on Tuesday.Reid's office issued a statement noting that a proposed Los Angeles-to-Las Vegas rail might get a big chunk of the money. http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2009/feb/12...-be-today-or-m/ Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/56343-8b-for-high-speed-rail/ Share on other sites

TigerHeat 9
And yet you complain about gas prices...... It's not our side complaining about gas prices, demanding congressional investigations into Big Oil, and hollering constantly about excessive profits. Good defense of the indefensible, though. Tigermike 4,266
And yet you complain about gas prices...... So how much gas would $8 billion buy? $8 billion divided by $1.79 = s*** I just blew up the calculator.
