Ranger12 53
Loving it! More accurately, I am loving the money I am saving from having a landline. We ported our Bellsouth/AT&T landline number over and the porting was completed today. I hooked up the adapter to my router and it is as clear as a bell. If you already have a wireless router, you don't have to buy their router. The now came out with an adapter which is about the size of a small broadband modem and costs $30. I was always wary of my phone service relying on my internet or having power just in case that went out. However, now that we live in an area that has good cell phone reception, we can rely on that as backup. AT&T, with our nationwide calling plan, was running us around $70-$80 a month. With T-Mobile, as a customer, I get the same thing, with voicemail and caller ID, for $10 a month. Can't beat that. I was worried about how much of my bandwidth will be used up while I was on the internet while on the phone at the same time. I know some Charter phone customers that have complained about their internet slowing substantially when on the phone. I have 5 Meg service with Charter and when I have been on the phone at the same time using the T-Mobile service, I can't tell any difference in speed on my internet. I do have 6.0 Dect phones, which they say are the best for the technology. However, I have read great reviews from people that have non-digital frequency phones. If you are a T-Mobile customer and you can get a good signal at your house with your cell phones as back ups, I highly suggest checking into the T-Mobile at Home service. You should have no problem porting your home phone number. Link to comment https://www.aufamily.com/topic/56381-t-mobile-at-home/ Share on other sites
