New Development in Oku Story...

Kid apparently out of the blue decided to transfer to a HS in Nebraska. He is apparently living with some girl he met on a recruiting trip to Nebraska or something like that.

Sad to say, but I told you that I was hearing that he was a head-case. Lots of weird stuff going around his recruitment.

Is she the mysterious "person" he wanted to talk to before he made the decision? If so, do we have a Chizik memorial scholarship we can give her?

I'm thinking it may be safe to assume she is a Big Red supporter.

Do either of these guys, Oku and Brown, have parents??? Are they being raised by their perspective States?? Why does it seem that there are no adults with common sense involved with either of these guys?

From what I've heard, Oku's parents are truck drivers, and thus he has grown up largely supporting himself for the last several years. Can't remember where I read that, but pretty sure that is the case. Probably just a kid looking for some love.

Well from your comments your parents must have been truckers too!! What the hell does his his parents job have to do With where he decides to play football? WTF . I don't know one kid including you who was not flaming dumb a** When he is 19 years old.

They don't know st*t about anything they think they do! And you being from Auburn should know that, he's just a immature kid that's all. eventually he will grow up. After reading your post I don't think I can say the same for you.

They both have parents. Oku said he told his parents he was moving. Brown says his parents are very much involved in the precess of making his decision. His Dad wants him to go to Miami and I believe he will go there if he goes to college at all.

I check in every day to see what Oku will do and I will now happily resign myself to being satisfied with our RB stable... as is.

Love the one you're with or love the ones who are with us.

Huh, where did this response come from? Expect a response out there in left field.

Am I the only one cynical enough on here to think that the minute he commits to a team not in Lincoln, she is gone, or the minute he signs with a team in Lincoln, she is gone? I mean, he has pretty much committed with Nebraska, right? Sad, that this is all it took.

Yeah sounds like Woody is the one with issues here.

Woody.. If your parents are truck drivers.. you only see them on the weekends. They are not there through the week. That can be hard for someone growing up, whether you believe that or not.

And I don't think anyone said that "Hey.. His parents are truck drivers, so he will go to ______ for college."

I believe they are just stating that MAYBE (or potentially.. or possibly).. the reason he has decided to up and move to Nebraska with a girl he met on a recruiting trip is because his parents are never at home (which can effect a person).

Nobody said that as FACT.

And as far as being 19.. and not knowing "s**t." That might just be true. But you are acting like a 14 year old on the internet, hiding behind a computer screen. You coming on here like you know it all and telling people how it is isn't very mature yourself. Just saying. "Flaming dumb**s" ?? Uhh.. nevermind.

I was thinking the same thing. The Nebraska people may have put some hot girl on him to entice him to Lincoln.

This has to be one of the most bizarre stories of this recruiting season. He claims he's doing all this to find a better high school from an academic standpoint to prepare him for college....hmmm, with only a few months left of classes? A different state? Some girl he met on a recruiting trip? Some thing does not add up at all.

Seriously. What does your comment have to do with mine? I simply made a statement telling what I knew. I made no judgement on him. Ryan is right, if his parents aren't around much, then a) he really isn't tied down much from moving and B) a girl might have more of an impact on him than your average high school senior. Don't know what you are basing your criticism on, but I'd love to hear.
