Obama's approval rebound is due to increased support from all political groups, but especially from independents and Republicans, whose support had been waning. Over the past week, independents' approval of Obama dropped from 62% to 54%, but is now back to 62%. There has been a sharp increase in support among Republicans, from 27% to 42%. Democrats' support for Obama was already extremely high at 86%, but even this has climbed slightly, to 90% in the latest polling.

I used to wonder how intelligent people in places like Germany, Cuba, etc. could get so enthralled by leaders

like Hitler and Castro. They were great orators and stirred the people who were desperate for change. The people followed them as their countries went down the tube. Now I see it happening before my eyes.

Let me also add that who the heck answers these polls? I have never been asked. If you took a poll at my office, it wold not be near 67%, or in my church, or in my breakfast group, or probably in my town. Seems strange to me. But I work and have children so I do not have time to answer polls any ways.

Same here. I know 2 people that are in the tank for Obama. One person I know that voted for him can't stand him anymore. In my non-scientific poll among peers, I'd say his approval rating is somewhere in the 1-5% range.

What is funny is all these salivating liberals in the media telling us how popular Obama is 24/7. Meanwhile, there goes the Dow Jones...down again. Worst month since 1933.

But this is all Bush's fault that the bottom didn't fall out until three months after Obama got elected, right?

Hitler, Castro, and Obama, throw in Wayne Gacey and you have a grand slam

Where do you get an increase? It started at 69 and is now 67. What's the poll's margin of error? I haven't seen one of these polls that didn't have a margin of error less than 3%. His popularity is roughly the same as it's been since the inauguration. He's still enjoying the honeymoon.

*Sigh...

Where was the poll taken, and how many people. I can't find a single person who supports him, to include the few misguided soulds that actally liked him at one point.

Our country has taken more steps toward socialism in the last 100 days, than in the last 100 years.

After all, when broken down by county, it's clear so much of the country loved him

Take away the urban dwellers from the slums, welfare recipients, and other urbanites, and most of the country isn't into wealth redistribution, gun control, free abortions, and other "change".

obama is likely to cause some real damage unless the silent majority in this nation wake up and stop being silent.

They have! Marches in Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and several other cities today in protest of Obama's economic stimulus and healthcare bills. The rise of the conservative has started.

Obama will backrupt this country, and someone will have to look at Reaganomics once again.

WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT!

Nah, even though I don't like Obama, he is not a buffoon like Langford. Obama is pretty smart, he's just wrong on a lot of stuff.

If a 3rd grader speaks exceptionally well for his age but says 4*4=19, what do you call that? He sounds smart, but he's still fundamentally wrong.

What scares me about Obama, is that he feels his OPINION on the issues are more important than the FACTS and the HISTORY that exists on the issues. I think that's worse.

Not questioning your non-scientific poll, but I would wager a decent amount that the survey you conducted of your diverse peers is not exactly representative of the U.S. population. B)

I think it is funny that red seems to be affirmed by his president's approval rating.

The only thing I take from this undeniable message the vast majority of Americans are sending is: most of us are of the opinion that the appropriate bold actions are being taken to confront the difficult challenges we face. Not too suprising, this new evidence is in direct contrast to a lot of the b*tching and moaning we've heard around here over the past few weeks.

When 7 out of 10 Americans give approval to this High Office, a statement is being made, which is worthy of recognition - even if you and all of your friends are part of the remaining 30%.

That is basically what we have been saying about your poll which concludes "Obama Approval Rating Increases to 67%".

See that works both ways. :P

A couple of things:

1) I could find 7 out of 10 around here that would call him an idiot - is that scientific? I question those approval rating as more liberal bias unless they would like to share where they took the poll.

2) I am not discounting "bold" actions, but bold does not = right. obama is on a path to screw up our country for a long, long time. The problem is we have so many lazy, entitlement driven leaches in our society that support this clown that the damage he can do is immense. I for one refuse to let him lay the burden of the lazy, uneducated masses on me. I will do all I can to rally the conservatives in my area ti resist "change" and stand up for the values our country was founded on.

This SOB has done more to turn our nation socialist in the last 100 days than has happened in the past 100 years. I for one refuse to stand quietly by as MY nation is destroyed. I have laid my life on the line to defend this country, much more than obama - and I will not it it die quietly and undefended.

As for this specific poll...

Results are based on telephone interviews with 1,551 national adults, aged 18 and older, conducted Feb. 24-26, 2009, as part of Gallup Poll Daily tracking. For results based on the total sample of national adults, one can say with 95% confidence that the maximum margin of sampling error is ±3 percentage points.
