Trying my hand at polls. :big:

I for one, am very excited to see Trotter taking snaps this season. While Clint Moseley is another option, it seems that all signs might be pointing to Trotter.

For now, it seems to me that it's Trotter's for the taking. I liked what I saw in his clean up activities. He showed that he can both scramble and throw a lazer here and there. However, we might get thrown for a loop when the Spring game rolls around.

Edit: Chime in on why you chose what you did.

I'm undecided. I want to see how well Khiel will do.

Kiehl shows much promise, but I honestly don't think we'll be starting a true freshman at QB. Especially with our young o-line. He also won't be near as much familiar with the Malzahn offense as Trotter or Clint by the Fall either.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd love to see Cam Jr. step up-but I just don't think it'd be a smart move.

Yes, I've seen Trotter in a mop-up role all season and he has what it takes to succeed in Gus' offensive schemes.

I think Trotter will be just fine. He's not the dual threat Newton was but he's athletic enough to move the chains with his feet and he's not the statue Chris Todd was in the pocket. With only 2 QB's repping during the spring, both will get plenty of snaps and preparation.

Whoever our qb is will have the advantage of well coached players and playmakers around him. He will have the advantage of a OC who can scheme around his abilities. What concerns me is the difference in the offense on third and short. This year third and short was an automatic 1st down. We struggled with this in 2009, even with a NFL running back and an experience O line. Wonder if we have a wildcat option for this situation, maybe Trovan Reed.

Greatest thing about 2011 is trusting that this coaching staff will develop the players and the team will improve as the year progresses. We don't need to be concerned about results, I believe in what CGC is building.

It's hard for me to use the word excited, but I'm looking forward to see all the new QB's get their shot. If the O-line can gel I think our QB's can run the offense and make us competitive in the West. After two years, I trust our coaches to put the right people on the field.

I'm ready to see Trotter lead this team. I think he can get it done as he matures in the starting role.

I'm ready for some AU Baseball, Swimming & Diving, etc..........just enjoying the National Championship for the next 200 plus days. :)

After he signed with Auburn, I talked to a friend that played high school ball with Trotter. He didn't seem very high on him, and even went as far as to say that he would never see the field. I didn't think much of it at the time, but of course that was when we still thought Kodi was the "future" at QB.

After Trotter being named that 2nd string ahead of Neil, CGM offering Neil a GA position, and actually seeing Trotter command the squad on the field, I'm ready to see him get his shot. I vote as excited, but I'm still not sure that's the right word. Excited? I am excited for spring ball, period.

Everytime Trotter has touched the ball in a game this year he has moved the team by handing off, running himself or passing. I wouldn't mind seeing Kyle run the wildcat to get him some experience this year. For those sportswriters who are counting us out, I wouldn't. Our defense will be much improved this year and Gus will put together an offense that will score points.

Hopefully we go back to the defense of old with the monsters we have at DL and don't have to score 60 points a game to win

I just want college football to come back!!! :cheer:

Me too! I'm having withdrawal.

Ah, yes. Remember: Professional football is the nicotine patch for college ball. Not as good as the real thing, but enough to help you get by :)

Re: Trotter, from what I've seen and read I'm looking forward to him taking the reins. Seems composed with a good head on his shoulders, has reasonable mobility (more than Todd -- not bashing Todd, but it wasn't his forte'), and a great arm. Trotter also has a certain toughness I'm looking for in a QB.

Keihl will be a good one for sure, I'm looking forward to seeing him go to work in an :au: uniform as well. Definitely a great recruit for the Tigers.

I'm undecided. I want to see how well Khiel will do.

No way Frazier starts. True freshman learning a new system with an inexperenced line? We would be lucky to make a bowl game.

I'm not excited about Trotter but I'm not disappointed. Cam spoiled us with his ability. I am excited that Trotter has been in this system for a bit so he could make reads with some confidence. I am excited that he has experience with our playmakers so there isn't a huge feeling out period.

Malzahn has started true freshman quarterbacks before. I wouldn't put it past him.

Yeah, Arkansas didn't have much else and if I remember correctly, Mustain starting was part of a recruitment package. Regardless, he was benched for Dick. I don't know if he started a frosh at Tulsa but it is a terrible idea in the SEC.
