Any chance that the surprise acceptance of Frost has something to do with the surprising loss of Roberson?

Tubs recently fired James Willis (arrested for domestic violence) and hired Otis Mounds to replace him. Otis is Marcus' uncle. Connect the dots.

He's definitely following Mounds around. The question is whether or not this will stick...apparently he has already claimed that he is still open.

"Apparently" said it?

He's texting a lot of folks saying he's still open:

@LukeStampini: Text from STA DB Marcus Roberson "Make that known I'm still open!

To be fair he did say a few weeks ago that he was going to "shock" people. I'm not sure WTF this kid is doing; why commit and then say a minute later that he's still "open"...whatever that means.

Geeze Tubs, since when did you recruit players in the Rivals' 100?

Oh, I dunno. Maybe when he recruited the guys that were the four first round draft picks after the '04 season, or perhaps the #1 O-line class in the country that just finished leading Auburn to the national championship. Then there was Ben Tate, Ben Obomanu, Devon, on and on and on.

Coach Tuberville did a lot of great things for Auburn and recruited a lot of great players for us. His time came and went, but it's not cool to try to belittle him.

Thanks for those comments Mikey.

Key word here is "kid." Seems like more and more of them do this stuff to get attention. And it gets worse every year.

Holy cow. Well I hope everyone would see it as a joke but I guess not. Everyone knows Tubs never fared well with the Top 100 "big name recruits". But he was a far better talent scout than any of the websites. Out of the 8 years rivals kept up with Tubberville's recruiting he signed 8 players out of the top 100. I was hardly trying to belittle him.

How about this for a shock: A flip to AU on Signing Day.

Hope he tells the coaches first.

I didn't realize Otis Mounds was coaching.

Now, Willis was the DC. Otis to my understanding is just the defensive backs coach, correct?

When/If he gets hired it will be as DB coach. He was a graduate assistant at Texas Tech a year ago I believe.
