FOX Sports and Auburn

Per the football board, there seems to be an attitude from many areas of the FOX world that has it out for Auburn.

Brian Kilmeade , from FOX n Friends, flatly stated that Auburn cheated to get Cam.

There's some pin head who wrote a column that has his / her panties in a bunch over CGC's remarks involving GOD ™ and AU's win over Oregon.

And there's also the preseason to 25 ranking from CFN, which has omitted AU from its top 25 list.

I'm wondering... is all this just phonied up acrimony and hatred simply a device by which to sell more 'news' ? Nothing sells like controversy, and it seems to me that FOX is trying to jump in on th BSPN band wagon at stirring up business.

But spewing vitriol and posting columns is one thing, while leaving AU off its top 25 list.....seems to be a disconnect there. Sure, AU will be vastly unproven, and w/ out much which helped it win the title this year....

Does the fact that Robert Gibbs, Obama's outgoing Press Sec being an AU fan have anything to do w/ this ?

As far fetched as it seems, I have to wonder. Seriously, why all the hate ?

I know that one of my favorite conservative talk show hosts , Laura Ingraham, is always ready to offer a kind word for Alabama. ( Seems she had a cougar's crush over Brodie, back when he was at the Crapstone, and has been a fan, ever since )

I know this is a mingling of two separate forums, and counter to what 'some' may think, but on this matter, I simply want to say FOX sucks. Sucks a lot.

That is all.

I really dont think its that they hate us. I just think FOX has a history of going for the big headline - the big ratings piece. In this regard, the big headline is to hit Auburn. Its popular nationally, and until another story comes along they are gonna get the best ratings and response by slandering us.

I don't consider Brian Kilmeade someone to take seriously. What he knows about Auburn could fill a thimble.

Good to see they're following the Michael Moore/Adrianna Huffington model. :poke:

BSPN says Auburn paid for Cam, and it becomes gospel in the sports world.

Not sure how FOX is on the lead for this one. As for Kilmeade? He's the weak link in a soft ball morning show. The dimmest among dim bulbs. His contrived indignation over Auburn's alleged guilt over this really is laughable.

Look, I've tried to stay out of this thread. I do not want to say what I am going to say down here, because this is too easy.

1. Incendiary pieces will draw the crowd.

2. The target audience of the faux is the rednecks, They want to have all the rednecks glued to their teevees watching faux, going on thems websites, calling them etc.

3. They say things that the target audience, the rednecks, loves to hear. That, unfortunately, means dissing Auburn.

Seriously dude, spelling stuff like you do only serves to hurt your argument. TV, Fox, News, etc. We get you don't like it and that's just fine, but you aren't making those things look worse by spelling it that way. Just a tip on friendly debate and discussion.

To point out Fox as the only one is a bit rediculous as well. NYT is just as inflamatory regarding Auburn. I don't like it from anyone, and I have cut my veiwing of all cable news to a minimum. I watch select shows dedicated to information and that's about it. ALL media has the same gameplan....it's their bread and butter.

I completely agree. Aeronaut comes across as being immature by spelling the way he/she does. Mark Levin (conservative radio) does the same thing (like saying the NY Slime instead of Times). He, too, comes across as being dim when he does that.
