Duder 243
Yep. He left Tulsa to replace Petrino at Louisville and was fired.

ValleyTiger 2,894
I don't know that I'm impressed with that hire Same here...there was a steady decline in offensive production at Louisville from Petrino to Kragthorpe. Last 2 seasons of the Kragthorpe regime the Cards were 62nd and 98th in Total Offense.

mcgufcm 4,109
I actually think it was a good hire. In my eyes, Kragthorpe's struggles at Louisville were more a reflection of his inability to handle the head coaching job, not his ability to handle an offense. His offense was productive in the Big 12 before he took the Tulsa job. I'm not sure LSU made a huge leap up the ladder, but I don't think they moved down the ladder either. It's just kind of a change. The Gary Crowton experience just wasn't working.

He had huge shoes to fill with Patrino's departure at UofL. LSU made a good hire.

Unfortunately for them, is not like they were very far up the ladder offensively anyway. I figured they'd be looking for a bigger splash as OC...but maybe Kragthorpe can at least teach Les something about clock management...
mcgufcm 4,109
Got to think... if LSU moves even a little bit up the ladder offensively, that's a 12 or 13 win season. It's not like they were light-years away in need of a complete change. It's not splashy, but I don't think it was a bad hire.
