...All of it was a symbol of how well this team performed this season. But it was the symbol inside Jordan-Hare that was much more important -- the 78,000 people.

Auburn fans have always been a bit more motivated, a bit more boisterous, a bit more committed than most. But there was a stretch of time during Tommy Tuberville's years in which that fan base was a bit fractured, a bit less rabid. And those problems played a role in the thumping the Tigers took back in 2008.

I wrote back then that Auburn folks should probably be afraid of the momentum and resources behind Saban and the Alabama program, that things looked bleak.

On Saturday, things were as bright for the Auburn program as they could be. And judging by the support and unity on display, it's probably the program to be feared.
