Alabama's lone member of the Parade All-America football team failed to score a single touchdown this season.

That's because he's a lineman.

Spanish Fort center Reese Dismukes -- the Press-Register's Class 4A-6A offensive player of the Year and runner-up in Mr. Football voting -- is the only player from Alabama on this year's edition of the magazine's team, which features 53 seniors from 22 states.

"It puts Spanish Fort out there and obviously puts me out there," Dismukes said. "None of this could have happened without the coaches at Spanish Fort and my teammates at Spanish Fort. I played alongside some great players. You never do anything by yourself, so I just want to thank everybody."

Dismukes graduated a semester early and enrolled at Auburn earlier this month, reporting to the reigning BCS national champion so he can participate in spring practice and fight for a starting spot. The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder led Spanish Fort to the Class 5A championship while opening holes for quarterback Ameriol Finley to run for more than 1,500 yards and running back Davares Ambrose to get another 900.

The Alabama Sports Writers Association chose Dismukes as the 5A Lineman of the Year and a member of the Super 12, a selection of the state's top dozen players regardless of position.

Former Spanish Fort coach Bryant Vincent said Dismukes' award serves as national recognition of the Toros' meteoric rise to football prominence. When Vincent took over four seasons ago, the school had never won a game, and Dismukes played a major role in the team's success.

"They don't just hand out Parade All-American awards to just anybody," said Vincent, who recently left Spanish Fort to serve as an assistant at South Alabama.

A weekly insert into numerous newspapers around the country, including the Press-Register, Parade magazine has picked an All-America football team for the last 48 years, and making the team represents one of the highest honors a high school player can enjoy.

The entire 53-member team will appear Sunday in Parade, with a five-page spread that includes individual profiles of several players. One of the spotlighted players is running back Dee Hart, who has already enrolled at Alabama. Another member of the Parade team is headed to Alabama, too -- Jabriel Washington, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound athlete from Jackson, Tenn.

In addition to Dismukes, Auburn's recruiting class also includes a second Parade All-American -- quarterback Kiehl Frazier, from Springdale, Ark.

Other notable members of the Parade All-American team are linebacker C.J. Johnson, the top-rated player in Mississippi; Jadevon Clowney, the Rock Hill, S.C., defensive end and the No. 1 player on the Super Southeast 120 who will choose between Alabama and South Carolina; and offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandijo, the nation's top offensive tackle who is mulling offers from Alabama and Auburn.
