Paid 100K for Arie and 500K for Cyrus.......

Dad is living the American dream.

This is obviously not based on anything other than perception and innuendo. Good luck Cyrus as you play at Auburn this next year and wish that you were wearing orange and blue.

could you imagine knowing that you really wanted to play for somebody but you were being "forced" to play for somebody else? i would not enjoy the sport anymore at all.

All I have to say is there better be an investigation into this and Calloway. ESPN, the NY times, the AJC better be all over this.

Something stinks here. I am sure Calloway was some sort of a deal but Cyrus was family involved like either sign with us or your brother will lose his scholarship. That is my opinion and it can not be changed.

Yeah, they better ask for the dad's bank records right away. NCAA should be all over this. Is his dad a preacher? Have they ever been to Memphis? Where's Thayer when you need him? Maybe this could be his new "mission"?

There was a lot of speculation and innuendo by the media, but there is a reason the NCAA looked at Cecil's financial records.

Sure there was a reason. They wanted to see if he'd come into an extra $200k. Had he refused to turn over his financials, which was well within his rights to do, there could be more speculation. Since he voluntarily turned all this stuff over it should have ended things. In fact, it did end things except for Thayer Evans and a few others being too lazy to go find something elst to write about.

Remember, the NCAA is not law enforcement. They have no right to demand anything. They do not have subpoena powers. All they can do is ask and if someone tells them to stuff it they may take it out on the subject school but the individual is in no more difficulty that if he'd refused to turn over his records to, say, Joe's barbershop.

PS: There will be nothing for them to find in the CK case. The implied threat of cutting off the older bro's scholarship was hanging there and everybody knows it. Proving something like that is impossible.

Send your "info" to Thayer Evans.<_<

Don't mention AU, tell him you are a New Mexico fan and something had to have gone on or Cyrus would be a Lobo now!

The 'sophistication' of the lies being spread by pretty much everyone is tough for some to defend. I keep hearing how " it's over, there's nothing to this... " , but the rumors and innuendo continue to spread. In the real world, perception becomes reality , regardless of the facts.

We were told, by many, that CK would end up at Auburn.

Are we equally as wrong about the Cam Newton investigation as well ? *IS* there more to come , with regards to us ?

I'm just pissed right now, having woken up to the bad news on CK. REALLY pisses me off, is all.

Whenever I get bothered by this stuff, I go back on the Rivals site and look at some of the can miss 5* and 4* prospects and how much they contributed. How about Greg Smith and Raven Gray - those two 5* really made some great contributions to the Auburn Tigers, didn't they? Couldn't have won the NC without them! Then there are Deron Furr, Roszell Grayden, Jeremy Richardson, Dontae Aycock, Tyrick Rollison, Johnny Lee Dixon, Enrique Davis and Bo Harris. Those guys really helped us a lot didn't they?

On the other hand, Nick Fairley was a 3* as was Darvin Adams, Zac Etheridge, Byron Isom, Zach Clayton, Wes Byrum, and Antoine Carter. Surely they those guys weren't good enough to play at Auburn? Well, I guess they didn't read the magazines.

Bottom line, this stuff is fun to talk about in in February but is doesn't make a crap in September. For every Michael Dyer and Lee Ziemba who lives up to their billing, there is a Greg Smith and a Raven Gray who, for whatever reason, turns out to be a bust. Maybe Cyrus K. ends up being the cornerstone of a Bama offensive line the blows everyone off the line of scrimmage and rams the ball down their throats. Then again, maybe he flunks out of school and never plays a down. One thing is for sure, Tracy Rocker's defensive front is not going to surrender when big Cyrus walks on the field, and you can count on that one!

Well, the 500k might be correct.

Craig Kellstrom, the head of public affairs and marketing for the M-NCPPC, said bidding for the project won't be finished until the end of January, when the organization and the school will have an idea how much the project will cost. DeMatha already has given the M-NCPPC $500,000 it received from an anonymous donor who gave specific instructions that the money be used for athletic fields.

Kind of reminds me of the whole Marcus Lattimore thing last year. Look how that turned out

I don't see the comparison. No one sequestered ML after he publicly said where he wanted to go, and then "somehow" ends up changing his mind.

Simply saying that after the season turned out the way it did, did ML regret his decision?

Wonder what Cyrus will be thinking this time next year (or 4 years from now).

I really don't care, but to answer the question, of course he'll say no. He's with his brother, and his parents are all giddy. He'll never know what he missed, so how could he ever regret his choice ? Over time, he'll be deluded and brain washed into believing the did right , but deep down, he'll know he wanted to come here. Like that matters now.

I have no doubt in my mind that Boosters at Turd have figured out a way to get this guy.

Calloway.. not so much. His foster parent did his job well there, think Michael Oher (spell?).

I don't think it really matters that much to me anyway.. our coaches, will far less talent, beat Alabama from 24-0! Not to mention, with a leg-less QB and Fairley-less defense almost beat them in 2009....

Just sayin.. our coaches will get it done.

Quoting AURaptor:"Are we equally as wrong about the Cam Newton investigation as well ? *IS* there more to come , with regards to us ?

No, there is nothing more coming, if by "more" you mean real problems. That was finished when the NCAA declared Cam eligible to participate without condition on December 2nd. No agency wants to have to eat crow.

Think about it: The NCAA was on no time table. There was nothing that required them to say anything at that time or for months or years to come. Cam was already going to play, their continued silence would have had no bearing on anything.

They set the scenario to end the deal because it was, well, ended. As has been reported in several places, the NCAA is satisfied that their investigation was complete. Investigative agencies never declare a case to be closed when they find nothing. They say "no evidence at this time", put the files away in a box and start working on some other issue.

If by "more" you mean more tirades from the likes of Thayer Evans, who knows? It's easier for that sort to get hits on their website by lying about Auburn than it is to write about something new.

A friend of mine ( not an AU fan ) was talking to some thUGA fan, and he simply would not shut up about how hard the hammer is going to come down on Auburn, that we'd better enjoy it now... I'm sure he's getting his info from that fictional piece of crap that's been going around the 'net, but still... It tells me that these d-heads are so wrapped up w/ hatred and jealousy... it's flat out bizarre.

It seems to me that the NCAA wants nothing to do w/ vacating ANOTHER national title, and certainly not after having said AU was in the clear....it makes THEM look totally incompetent. Sure, " at this time " is alway s open ended, but in all reality, we're not talking about a murder case. It's the NCAA, and whether it's 7 years or what, there has to be some functional half life for anything that goes on in college football. If something came up about a team cheating from the 1930's ( Alabama ) or some such, who'd care ? Just making a point.

I hate uga and bama as much as anyone, but hell... I wasn't losing sleep over them winning sec titles and such. But when Auburn wins... these guys act like the freakin' Taliban or some such. It's truly unbelievable.

AURaptor, it looks like your friend's UGA acquaintance has been reading the blogs at the AJC. They are full of that same crap. It was started by some sophomore creative writing major at LSU posting a fictional piece on their website "tigerpoop" or whatever it's called. Two or three other bloggers picked it up and posted it, some bothering to change a sentence here and there, some not taking the trouble and plagiarizing 100%.

It's a fairy tale about Bobby Lowder putting ATM's in the Victoryland dog track and Auburn players being given un-numbered, unlimited debit cards. They can go there and get all the money they want, whenever they want. Colonial Bank went under because of all the money drained by Auburn athletes.

I just tell 'em this: A.J. Greene gets caught selling one jersey. Bammer's Darious gets caught taking one airplane trip. The Ohio State guys get caught getting free tattoos. Other bammers get caught taking free fishing trips or having a computer given to them. Yet Auburn can give dozens of players untold zillions of dollars for years and nobody gets caught? I always knew Auburn folks were smarter than the rest, but I didn't know we were that much smarter!

It's all fantasy, started and perpetuated by jealous rivals that have no reason to believe it except that they want to believe it. Note, the "Hammer" was going to fall right after the UGA game, then right before the Iron Bowl, then right before the SEC game, then, for some odd reason, on December 22. Then it was really, REALLY going to fall January 6th, then January 31. I don't know on what future date the hammer is really, really, really gonna fall.

Bottom line, it's all nothing but wishful thinking by some sour grapes losers.

They haven't played a down yet. Thus the story hasn't broke yet. Wait till there is about 4 games left in the season. Then you'll have your story.

Guys first off why sweat one guy who cares I am with Etheridge if he doesn't want to come to AU screw him.

Secondly I would reason Saban is a win at all costs coach this stuff happens. Why is everyone surprised? I would give anything to be a parent and let the two biggest pieces of crap in the SEC, him and Petrino come recruit my son.

Thirdly unless Auburn is clean as the wind driven snow not sure how wise it is to call for investigations into other programs. Pat Dye's sudden remergence should be a cause for concern. At least Tubbs was able to keep him at arms length.
