So, does this mean bama won the recruiting battle ?

I guess even I have to be reminded at just how dirty and ruthless the REC is, and how they'll literally stop at nothing to achieve their goals.

What next , a dead body stuffed in a suit case ? I swear, these folks are getting to be on par w/ the mob...

Roberson comes to mind, but we clearly wanted CK. And he wanted to come to Auburn. Shame that both he and Calloway were strong armed into going elsewhere.

It means we battled to a draw. The only thing that matters now is how well the prospects develop. That's the only thing that will break the draw.

This is why both programs are on an equal foot. Even when one wins the NC, recruiting in the state is still equally divided. I was surprised bama managed to pull through in the end, they seemed to be on life support towards signing day (probably an over exaggeration) and especially because auburn had so many spots to fill and we still kept up surprised me lol. Both teams have a great recruiting class though! Roll Tide!

*but it still surprises me how different scouts ranks bama in comparison with espn and rivals?!

I don't think Bama's recruiting efforts were on life support it's just that they already had most of the class in place. As much as it pains me to say it but I think Bama finished stronger than Auburn did.

It also surprises me that every year it seems like there's at least one player that commits to Alabama and then they get an extra star added. Like go from a 3 star to a 4 star. I honestly don't think I've ever heard or seen anything like that happen for Auburn. If anyone has an example or can tell me when that's happened for Auburn please let me know. lol

I think you're looking at it from the wrong perspective. Auburn had two of bama's given athletes give Auburn serious consideration and it goes to show our coaches are serving notice to bama that Auburn is just as GREAT a place to spend four years as any in the nation. CGC has changed the perception of athletes in Alabama and the nation.

Look for better recruiting success from Auburn in the future and tougher recruiting battles for bama.

Yeah. Moral victory. Just like how bama whooped us in the IB last year, for 3 quarters....

We won't know which class is better for at least three Iron Bowls. I don't think CyKo was strong armed or stolen from us. I believe he honestly needed a few more days. I hope he has a very successful with only 4 bad games the entire time he's at the Capstone. Calloway is a different story. I feel for that kid - he wanted nothing to do with Bama and the d-bag pretending to be his father literally kidnapped this kid and forced him to go to a school he doesn't like. I really feel badly for Brent Calloway.

Moral victory? Aren't we talking about recruiting. Sounds like you want to line up our recruits against theirs and have a game. Relax man relax.@

Yeah. Moral victory. Just like how bama whooped us in the IB last year, for 3 quarters.... the 1st quarter and half... first 20 minutes then stood by impotently as history unfurled it's blue and orange freak flag all over Tuberville-Chizik Stadium in Tuscalooser.

I fixed that fixin' for you.

We were just shown that despite the rumors we don't pay nearly as well as the r.e.c.

I see no other reason that it was so blatant that both these kids came out and publicly said. I want to go to AU. Then they were sequestered by family to make sure they didn't "Make a mistake" because really what kid wants to high five with his fellow players and coaches. And why would a kid really want to be an arcitecture major. That's for kids that aren't good enough to play football porffesionaly

Umm...we are going to have a game w/ these recruits. But I was asking if this puts them ahead of in terms of class ranking, and by how much.

I just hate being punked like that on national t.v. It sucks, it's humiliating, and has all the signs of foul play on bama's part. Of course, folks will say we look like all those in crying about smoke / fire and all that, but there won't be the months long smear campaign against bama as there was with Auburn. Hell, the media has all but moved on , except to praise alabama's most amazing, terrific, outstanding recruiting class.....

Calloway is a reverse example of this. He was 4 star when he committed to Alabama, then turned into a 3 star when he changed his mind to Auburn. Now that he finally committed to Alabama, he's a 4 star again.

I think most everyone else would say otherwise.... but it's only a matter of perception. I think we did great. Could / might have been excellent....we'll see.

I think it was a draw, with Auburn clearly wresting control of in-state recruits away from the sabanites.

The thing is, we don't have to beat them in recruiting to beat them on the field, all we have to do is stay somewhere close. Auburn has never consistently out-recruited Georgia, Florida, Tennessee or UAT. Yet we hold the series edge over three of them and if you take the Bryant years out of it, we lead the series with bammer by 8 wins. We hold the lead over them in both the pre-Bryant years and in the years after he left. Our guys must hustle harder, our coaches are smarter or whatever. If we stay close in recruiting, we'll beat 'em on the field. Always have, always will.

Who won the recruiting battle? "The answer my friend is blowing in the wind........"

That wind will get stronger next Nov. 26 become a dangerous tornado in 2012. The wind will part the tide like the Red Sea in Biblical times and the Tigers will walk thru, ssmiling at the likes of Calloway and SyKo. In 2013, a hurricane of a strengt never seen before will blow the tide miles off the shore of the Gulf of Mexico. Calloway will never be seen again and CyKO will spend the rest of his days in the Psycho ward at Bryce with constantly yelling roll tide.......but no one answere. Evn brother Arie won't come to see him,
