RunInRed 18,235
AUFAMILY is proud to partner with Seat Sherpa to introduce our community to a great new iPhone App: Seat Sherpa is an iPhone application that brings hundreds of venue seating charts and maps to your fingertips. This isn't just your run of the mill seating chart app. We baked in features like google maps with stadium locator and the ability to upload both images and video from your seat inside the stadium.Features Up to date stadiums for NCAA Football, NBA, and NHL venues. Most NCAA venues are color-coded to show student sections and visitor seating. Works offline. When those data lines are busy on gameday, you still see your map. Ability to view and upload images and video - see what your seat would look like before you shell out the big bucks. Integrated Google Maps for easy location of your venue. "My Venues" feature for storing all your favorites for quick retrieval. High resolution navigation and background imagery for retina display. Venues & corrections added quick thanks to our corrections/suggestions page Here's a demo: Also, I've asked the developer to join us so if you have any questions, feedback, etc. about the application, post them here and he will respond. The app is only $1.99 and is available on iTunes (follow the image link below). Check it out! Available on iTunes
Seat Sherpa 0
I'd like to say thanks to AUFAMILY.com for giving me an opportunity to showcase this app. I'm really excited about it and as a sports fan I think it's going to be extremely useful come gameday. A couple of things of note: MLB, NFL, Remaining College Maps, and College Basketball are all coming this year in the form of free updates. Don't worry, Jordan-Hare is already in there. Also, we don't have a ton of stadium pictures (actual pictures from the seats) yet. We are really relying on the user community for that. We do have a picture of JHS (it's even featured in the itunes store and on the website). Finally, a big feature that was put in based on our experience on gamedays: caching. Often times, on gameday, you can't even send a text -- much less download a stadium map to your iPhone. This app caches the maps you've previously viewed, so on gameday, even if you have no data connection, the maps pull up instantly. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Thanks so much for checking out Seat Sherpa!
RunInRed 18,235
I've got a question (which I'm sure is out there)... What are the plans for other devices (i.e., Android, Blackberry, etc.) Thanks.

Seat Sherpa 0
I've got a question (which I'm sure is out there)... What are the plans for other devices (i.e., Android, Blackberry, etc.) Thanks. I've had a number of Android folks ask me about an Android version. Initially there weren't plans to do one right off, but rather to wait and see how the iPhone version went. However, since there seems to be a considerable demand for one, there's plans to have one this year, hopefully by the time football season starts, if not sooner. And a Windows Phone 7 version shortly after that. Currently, we don't have plans to do a Blackberry version. Blackberry presents a number of obstacles for an app like this given the need to accommodate a number of different screen sizes and generally smaller screens than you see on Android and iPhone. Justin5 20
Anyway the gps is accurate enough to be able to show you in the stadium?
Seat Sherpa 0
Anyway the gps is accurate enough to be able to show you in the stadium? Depends, the GPS is pretty darn accurate. But the blue dot that shows your location might cover the entire stadium if you're at a Boise State game. You would be fine in Jordan Hare, however.
