Aeronaut 0
It's not a good thing. We couldn't do anything about it. Too late to grow seeds of trust.

DCWarEagle 0
Mubarak ran a repressive regime for three decades and had lost the support of his people. On its own, yes, I believe it is a good thing for the Egyptian people that he is no longer in control. Of course, now the issue is who will take over, and that could turn into something very good or very bad. Because of Mubarak, there is not much infrastructure for a true deomcratic process. The military is now in control and will presumably remain in control for the foreseeable future. If the generals act with restraint and allow for elections to occur, then Egypt may well begin have a more representative government. Egypt has a relatively sophisticated and well-educated middle-class and a number of potential leaders have already emerged such as Mohamed Elbaradei. If someone like that is able to have power and popular support, Egypt may have the opportunity to improve itself. Unfortunately, there is also a very real possibility that another dictator will move into the power vacuum and be just as bad (or worse) as Mubarak.
