MDM4AU 337
I can't tell you how many times I've been to the Corner after a win. I didn't go everytime. But I can tell you that every time I did go it was quite a scene. I think the thing that sticks in my memory is the smile on people's faces, young and old, fathers and sons, all just enjoying being around family. That's the great thing about Auburn. It's a family. We choose to gather and celebrate at Toomer's because it is a great spot to do so. It is one of the great traditions of college sports. But what Al from Dadeville fails to understand, along with basic human decency, is that killing two trees doesn't change anything. We all love Toomer's. But Auburn's spirit and soul are way more than just Toomer's. It is way less tangible than two beloved oak trees.. ...You can poison Toomer's Corner, Al, but you will never poison our spirit. And you will never understand why, tree or no tree, it's great to be an Auburn Tiger. Read More at eyesonauburn.blogspot.com
LegalEagle 22
After reading your post, it dawned on me that those are our Auburn Family Trees! My Dad enjoyed them when he went to school there as did my brother, my sister and myself. We have roots there and those trees are a symbol of generations of Auburn men and women who have passed under their boughs. I hope they can be saved. AURaptor 1,137
It still baffles me that I live on a planet where such evil exists as bama fans. By in large, most of them not only are indifferent to the heinous act, but actually are happy he did it. There's a tremendous disconnect with basic humanity and decency here. It's hard to comprehend. I don't know if you should call it evil, or just total ignorance and stupidity? There is that, I agree. But where I put it into the category as evil is that this was a malicious , intentional event. The POINT was to inflict pain and hurt upon the AU family. It's not that something happened, like a tornado or some sort of natural incident occurred, and the trees were damaged, or killed. I have no doubt the bammers would be gleeful of that happening. But this inbred loser MEANT to do this, did it, and the bama fans ( most of them ) are happy he did it, want to send him $$, praise his act... THAT, imo, is evil.
