Robert Bentley says he expects the budget for most non-education agencies of state government to be cut about 15 percent within the next month.Bentley told newspaper executives Friday in Montgomery that revenue for the state General Fund budget is coming in below expectations and he must make budget cuts. But he said they won't be across the board. The new governor said he wants to try to spare a few agencies, including Medicaid, Corrections, Pardons and Paroles, and the Ethics Commission. He said this year's cuts could be followed by a 15 to 20 percent reduction for many agencies in next year's General Fund budget. Bentley has to present his budget plans to the Legislature by March 3.
