I care, and I dropped by TC after the BB game. Sad is not saying enough, but ever since Hurricane Opal took out the magnificent oak trees I've been a little sad every time I've walked though. Sort of like a losing season. Nothing that time, character and hard work will not overcome.

Thanks for the post StatTiger, I was a little surprised by the defensive numbers. What I did see last year were some "stops" after turning the ball over. Any data on that subject? How much of the offensive td/to ratio was attributed to the numerator vs the denominator. (nothing like confusing those snooping tree haters with big words and mathematical equations)

A couple of thoughts since you elected to post this comment on an open forum for all to read...

1) It's a football board, which normally should have "football" related topics. Is Toomers important to me? Cerntainly. I posted my comments on Toomers. Do you think Auburn University shutdown over Toomers? Do you think the Chizik's staff has been sitting around crying since the news of Toomers came out? Nope. They continue to do what they do and so will I. I'm not going to give any updyke the satisfaction of making me change my ways.

2) Why did you bother to open or read my post? The title of the post was clear on the subject line. If you did not want to read it, don't. Warning: I will continue to post football related topics in the near future.

3) Is there a time line on when it's okay to post "football" stats? If there is some form of etiquette on when or when not to post football related topics, I plead ignorant.

4) If this was a joke, it flew over my head, if not.....wow.

Auburn's national ranking in turnover / TD ratio on defense (2000-2010)

2000: 35th

2001: 43rd

2002: 14th

2003: 28th

2004: 6th

2005: 31st

2006: 12th

2007: 13th

2008: 51st

2009: 71st

2010: 65th

A return to the ratio under Gene Chizik as defensive coordinator would be great in 2011.

For the entire season, Auburn allowed 31.3 yards per possession defended on 5.36 yards per play.

When the AU defense was forced to defend an Auburn turnover, the Tiger defense allowed 23.6 yards per possession on 4.79 yards per play.

Of the 7 TD's scored by the opponent, resulting from an AU turnover, the opponent had to travel an average distance of 37.5 yards.

I've always admired defenses that would stop the other team after a turnover, even in the red zone. Thought we began to see that last year on the plains. Opportunistic offenses are championship material as well. Thanks again.
