This link was on WSFA.com last night. Updyke is not living in the rental house on the lake anymore. Now he lives in his car by a creek. Interesting video.

choose "Toomer's suspect living in car" under videos. Sorry, I had trouble copying the link.

The TfT folks should take the funds they are raising and donate them to provide poor old Harvey a decent place to stay until he gets back in jail.

It's been too warm around here for the past week. Now that Updyke is living in a car, let's hope for a few more nights down in the 25 degree range!

I doubt he is really living in a car by a creek. This sounds like the start of campaign to make him look like he is being persecuted.

I also heard that his ex-landlord is claiming Updyke's car tires were cut while he shopped at a WalMart??

He's also never going to have legal representation at this point...

He now has an attorney.

You are right the campaign has started. His attorney was a guest on Finebaum's show yesterday afternoon and made the claim of slashed tires while at Wal-Mart. The lawyer also claimed the reason Harvey had moved was because of death threats.

The lawyer painted him as a confused 63 year old man in need of daily medication for several ailments, who has been run out of his home (supposedly by mean ole Auburn fans) and is now living in his car.

He now has an attorney.

His track record isn't that stellar :roflol:

Threatt has handled several high-profile cases, including those of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman and former Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford.

Looks like the third lawyer is trying to beg off, too;

Updyke has cycled through two court-appointed lawyers and is likely to move through a third. Jerry M. Blevins said Tuesday he was retained on the matter last week but has now filed a motion to withdraw from the case.

Blevins declined to elaborate on why he wanted to be released, saying only there were "some conflicts between me and Mr. Updyke."

He's already gone. He has Threatt from Bham now.

The last lawyer he had was retained. Where do you suppose he got the $ to hire an attorney? Could it be . . . Satan???

Well isn't that special

I'm no legal expert, but I don't think being "retained" is the same as being "on retainer". Sounds like the third guy is also court-appointed.

I do not think that Threatt is court-appointed right now, but I feel certain that he will be able to get some payment from the state for his work (at greatly reduced rates). I also have no doubt that Threatt's undertaking of this matter is a self-serving marketing move to get his name in print, so to speak. In other words, very low cost advertising. Moreover, I suspect that this will not require a lot of legal work by Threatt, but will require a lot of "public" work (like going on the PF show to try to win favor for his client).

Updyke and Threatt seem like nice bedfellows. Maybe they can buy a van together and one day amount to jack squat.
