Let me sure that I understand where we are as of today - we are allowed 30 new players on the field in August ( 5 to enroll  in Jan. / 25 more to sign in Feb  + 3 more non quailfers for a total of 33 possible signess ) :

A. We wanted to enroll 5 in Jan. 2010 and we have signed those 5 players -

B. For Feb. we can sign 28 more with these being 3 non quailfers. Only 25 of the 28 can begin Fall practice in Aug.

Presently we have 22 commitments for FEB., so we can sign at least 6 more to get to 28. However of the present  22 we have 3 possible non-qualifers and 1 player possibly looking at Clemson -- if this happens, now we are at 21 players and will need 7 more to get to 28 signees in Feb.

C. For these 7 positions the following seem to be mentioned most often: 1.) OL E.Mack  2.) RB M. Lattimore

3.) DL J.Whitaker  4.) DL M. Thornton  5.) DL B. Jones 6.) DE Adams  7. ) DE C. Lemoiner  8.) LB V. Beasley

Who else would you add to the MOST LIKELY TO SIGN WITH AU LIST ? Would you call it a day id we keep what we have now and add 7 of these 8 ?

I think Whitaker is the most likely on that list.  If we added those eight guys we would probably have the number one class or at least close to it.

Although I know we can sign 28 with 3 receiving a Gray shirt, I just dont see what three would receive it from that list or any other list of recruits left on our board.  Who are our three possible non-qualifiers?

because there is time for them make improvments, but from what I can gather at least 3 present commitments are at least in the  "at risk" category of not making their grades. 2 of the 3 have been identified in the replies.

I think you've pretty much got it, hoss. Welcome to the fam. WDE!

so who is the 3rd "at risk" commitment?

You know guys, we shouldn't really bring all this out.  I am guilty of it also.  This is nobodys business really except for the kid, his family and the coaches who are recruiting him.  I apologize to the young man that I mentioned earlier.  Let's move on.

I think it's Kenneth Carter, but that could be wrong.

Well I'm not sure how we'll be doing in recruiting in 2019,  but I hope as well as we are doing in 2010  ;)

I didn't even notice that.  I hope I'm alive to see it.  The Mayans will have to redo their calendar, too.

Mostly likely completely false?

Try 100% false. The Mayans could predict the end of the world, but could not see Cortez coming?

Plus all the Mayan calander does is start over again. Like our going form Dec to Jan.

Always account for variable change. FWIW, they never said it would be the end of the world, just the end of the fifth cycle. The day 12/21/12 marked the day that the sun aligns with the galactic center of the milky way galaxy which only happens every 26,000 years... so for them to figure that out is pretty incredible IMO.

Kinda like the String Theory, huh??

Haha yeah I sound like a total nerd in that thread.... and in this one too now  :banghead:

Hey, I take pride in being a nerd. Even if I do have to work for one some day, at least we'll be on the same level. :P

As for the Mayan calendar, it marks the end of the age, not necessarily the end of the world. Much as I don't buy into the latter, the argument can be made that it lines up with the book of Revelations if one accepts that Obama is the anti-Christ (which I don't). By that theory, Obama would step from the seat of President of the United States to the seat of King of the World at the end of his first term, ushering in seven years of tribulation followed by the Thousand Year Reign of Christ.

There are actually quite a few things that make me wonder about all of that, but the one thing that stands out above all others is that anti-Christ is supposed to come like a thief in the night, and Obama has been branded as in league with Satan (the actual devil, not his cohort in T-town) since the day he burst onto the scene of the presidential primaries...

ha hah ha Thanks Red. I need a good laugh

Newbie here.  I'm sorry my debut post has nothing to do with AU, but I have to make a small correction to your post with regard to biblical prophecy - the Bible says of His second coming, Christ will come like a thief in the night.  Based on my limited recollection, there is no reference to the anti-christ(s) coming like a thief in the night.  But I could be wrong.  Granted, I agree with you.  I don't think Barack Obama is the anti-Christ (despite any other feelings I may have about his presidency).

Anyway, War Eagle, y'all, from the Raleigh-Durham area.  I've been lurking for awhile and finally signed up tonight.  I'm really pumped about where Chizik and Co. have our program headed.

Welcome! And now, folks, there will be no more discussion of the president or the Bible in this or any other thread until the day there is a political or religion thread. What's been said is enough. No need to start a fight on the best Auburn site on the web.
