No. 2-rated offensive guard Eric Mack (St. Matthews, S.C./Calhoun County) committed to Auburn Wednesday, ESPN's JC Shurburtt reports.

He originally picked the Gamecocks in July 2009, firmed his pledge on Sunday following an official visit, but decommitted Tuesday. Florida was Mack's other finalist.

ESPN's Craig Haubert said of the news, "After an interesting, long and shaky commitment to South Carolina, Eric Mack has decommitted and joined the Auburn Tigers 2010 class. It is a tad shocking that he made this switch after coming out earlier in the week and stating he was staying with the Gamecocks, but overall this is not tough to digest."

"Since the early fall Auburn has appeared to have had Mack's attention and now they have finally got him. Adding Mack is nice addition to an already strong class. With Mack the Tigers get a big and powerful lineman that can bring a physical presence to the interior of the trenches. He could also fit well in Auburn's high powered system as he is athletic enough for a big man to pull and lead and block downfield."

"Mack is Auburns first land from South Carolina in this class, but fans will be anxiously waiting to see if he is their last as the Tigers are battling the Gamecocks for running back Marcus Lattimore."

Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Miami-FL, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, N.C. State, Florida State, Michigan and Georgia also offered.
