on talent alone i would say definitely... but i'm gonna have to say no for the sole reason that if we do get dyer, and latt plus having aycock and omac i just don't see fannin getting enough carries to surpass tates total. but thats JMO

Doubt it. I think Mario has a lot of talent but Auburn will have a ton of talent at the RB position in 2010.

Fannin

McCalebb

Aycock

Dyer

possibly Lattimore

H-Back

Smith

Yeah I thought about that too. I remember Luper saying that he wants his starting back to get 20 carries a game, so I was thinking if Mario got that every game, then yes he can certainly have the chance. Yall are right though, to much talent at RB, and not to mention that Mario catches the ball out of the back field a lot too, so I would like to see him get 1,000 all purpose yards.

I'm not sure how many yards Fannin has, but my guess is,  he is a long way back from Ben. Fannin scares me being an every down back also. He has to carry the ball in his right arm for some reason, and he puts the ball on the turf to much for my taste.

I agree... but spending the whole off-season at RB under Lupers coaching... I feel confident he will get it fixed.

I hope so. He has home run capability on any play he touches the ball.

Mario is very talented, a freak actually.  He does, though, run too upright at times it seems.  He needs to lower the pad level and hold on to the rock.  If he can do this consistently then he can be real good.  That being said, with the stable of backs we will have next year I don't know if he'll get the opportunity to put up those kind of numbers.

I guess it would be a good thing if he doesnt surpass Tate... it would mean that other backs are doing a great job!

I will say that Auburn could have possibly as many as 2,000 rushing yards next season, with no one running back having more than 700 yards. It will be a commitee effort until someone wins the job....like, I don't know, some guy named Kenny Irons won in 2005. Tre Smith started in the beginning, as well as freshman Brad Lester. Irons had very little carries before game 4. One of these backs has to able to carry the load and take charge, based on sheer odds.

i know Mario had a bad night against USF that year, but when else has he fumbled? For some reason, when he has the ball, I'm never worried about him fumbling. He will get alot of carries this year.  I think he will have a good/great senior season and gets drafted in April.

He fumbles quite a bit. He fumbled his first carry in the Outback Bowl. Luckily for us, it went out of bounds.

Its kind of unfortunate on the idea that Mario hasn't had many chances to show his talent.  Some of his best chances were when Lester was suspended in 07.  He had some good receptions out of the backfield this year, but I am not sure we have seen his potential.

He has fumbled a couple times that have had a impact on the game.  One that was big this year was on that kickoff return against Arkansas.  But the USF game was the worst night probably for him.

seems like Ben Tate fumbled just as much as Mario. but I don't have the stats

I don't have the stats on it, but he fumbled very seldomly. Now if we got in the red zone inside the 5 yard line, or needed to run clock late in a game.....that was a different story.

well I know one things for sure... Adrian Peterson is the fumble champion.

I think Fannin will shine at RB next year and have a big season with all purpose yards. I think he hopefully rise his stock for the NFL
