How much can I expect to pay?

How much can I expect to pay for tickets outside the stadium for the LA-Monroe or Chattanooga game.

I am going to take my 4 year old and I don't know if he will make it the entire game (he barely made it the entire A-day game).  So I want to take him to a game I would be willing to leave if he gets worn out.

I would like to just buy tickets outside the stadium from a fan.  What would be a reasonable amount to expect for the tickets?

Arkansas State might actually cost a fair amount just because it is game 1, and everybody is planning to do the same thing as you. I remember ticket prices on campus went up for La Tech last year as the day went along. Chatanooga should be next to nothing though. Also look at LA Monroe week 5.

I would say around half price is a good guess. It totally depends on how long you want to wait. If you are trying to get the cheapest then wait until game time, but it gets more difficult then to get two seats together.

Stand in grass at the stadium entrance (either side) about 30 to 45 minutes before game time, put 4 year old on shoulders and hold up two fingers.  Tickets will land in hand in approximately 1 to 5 minutes.  This methodology has worked 3 times in the last 4 years.  :wedance:

Do you think this will work if I put my wife on my shoulders?

Open game will probably bring around face value just because there are a lot of people doing the same thing you are.  UT Chatanooga or ULM would be your best bets for cheap tickets.  I also think the AU ticket office has some tickets still available if you don't mind paying face value.

Half price or less is probably reasonable.  Don't start scouting until about an hour before kickoff, otherwise you'll probably end up paying more.  I normally scout on Donahue street onteh west side of the stadium.  Make certain that you have your kid with you while you're scouting the tickets and you may be the recipient of a nice gesture, such as free tickets.

War Eagle and Good Luck!

I was given free tickets when my children were little. One year I had given up on Georgia Tickets. As I walked through the scholarship parking section telling my son that we would watch it at Buffalo Connection this elderly couple flagged me down and said they decided to watch it on satellite and let me have the them 2 for 1. Never give up and never buy from someone on a bicycle. I suggest that if you have tickets for sale or trying to buy, look for a fan first. Professional Scalpers needs to be your last resort.

Walk around the scholarship parking area and ask folks if they have extra tickets. Let them see your son. you should get soon at little to no cost. Auburn fans love other Auburn fans bringing their kids to games. I took my youngest daughter to a game several years back. We were walking around asking about tickets. A gentleman came up and asked if it was for my daughter and I When I told him so he handed me two tickets in the schollie/donor section by the presidents box and told us to enjoy. When I tried to pay him he just walked off waving bye.

Not really much more than you would at the gate, tbh. But yeah, stand outside the stadium, put the kid on your shoulders, hold up 2 fingers, and yell "Need 2" and you should have a flock of scalpers fighting to get to you. Also, if you see a younger lady selling tickets, try to get those instead of the other scalpers. I've found out theyre generally nicer people and really arent just trying to rip people off.

We lucked out last year. I went to the first game with 2 friends, and we needed tickets, so we did the "3" thing and were quickly surrounded by scalpers, and then a lady with some little kids ran up and said she had 4 tickets she didnt need and would take whatever we wanted to give her for them. The richest scalper offered to pay her double whatever we pay, but she refused and said she wanted someone who would actually use them to get them. We wound up paying $15 apiece for 50 yard line, midlevel tickets. We then sold the fourth ticket for $15 and got $5 back each. So, $10 for GREAT GREAT GREAT tickets. Really wish this lady chatted here and saw this post so i can thank her again!

I paid $50 for two tickets last year to Ball State game.  We sat at about the 10 yard line on home side.  I may have paid too much but I had my 12 y/o son with me and I just wanted to get right in and set down.  IIRC, that's about 25-30 dollars off face value.  I'm sure you could do better if you scout around a bit.

OK, trying to decide if I should pay face value ($40) for tickets in section 33 now or wait until game day and see if I can find a better deal on tickets.

Thoughts?

I was able to get 1 last year for my 3 year old daughter before kick off for one of the lower tier games for 10.00.  Guy was wanting 25.00 for the tickets and told him I just needed one for the little one, when he looked down and saw her in her AU cheerleader outfit he said for her I will give it to you for 10.00. Thought that was really cool of the guy.  Long as you buy from a fan you should be in good shape. Auburn has some great people!!

Oh, well...  too late.

Thanks for the replies, but my wife already pulled the trigger (she works with the guy who has the tickets).  On the bright side, it's a small price to pay to see the Tigers play.
