Craig Sanders playing WLB

He definitely has the size, range and speed for it. Based on his HS experience, and the physical strides he has made since getting to AU, I think he could play nearly anywhere, on either side.

That could work great.

That makes me think Eltoro is going to start at SLB because of his size

Stevens is the starter at sam.

Nope.  Back up MLB, if that.  Competition will be strong.  He better bring it to earn 2nd team.

It's called depth boys.  Let somebody get a breather every now and then.  Fresh legs = big plays!!!

Its a great thing

i concur!

I can't wait to see how the LBs, CBs and Ss shape up.  There is good competition for all spots and that means the depth will be good.  The first depth chart should be interesting.

yall don't forget about jake holland, ladarious owens, and rahrah coming in at lb too! we are suddenly deep across the front 2 lines. there's gonna be alot of competition thats for sure! WDE!

We have an abundance of depth at DE. Too many talented players to ever get them all on the field. I think this is a fantastic move, even if it does not work out. If Sanders can play linebacker, by next year he will probably be a starter. Great athlete.  Strong, good size, decent speed. This could be a career move!

Actually Stevens moved over to Will this summer. Craig is backing him up right now. Followed by L Owens. According to Owens.

Watching videos of practice, Craig Sanders was working with the D line.  I think Owens mis-spoke and meant Craig Stevens, who moved to WLB in the spring.

You are right. I think I misread the quote.

Dang! It's nice to be talking about backups! Last year we were asking where they'd find a warm body to fill the slot, and praying for no injuries. This team looks special, we may have a real character building year. Maybe like Pat Dye's second year when they built on the foundation, and created that magnificent 3rd year team. I went every game that year, and they were special. Lost to Georgia late, but Pat Dye said that they learned a lot from the loss, and the went on to close out Bear Bryant's final regular season game with a loss. I was a Math GTA back then, and one of my students brought me a piece of the goal post. Still have it in a drawer.

Toomer's Corner looked like the North Pole that night.

WAR EAGLE.

Tonight at practice Bates, Bynes, and Stephens were running together. No freshman were out there when media got to go out, but Bates was playing, he looks bigger FYI, as does Omac. Article and pics to come tomorrow morning.

Sanders was definitely with the D line, He is looking good, I will tell you, Dee Ford looked HUGE tonight, Sanders was big, but looks to need a bit more yoxercise before he is matching up with the SEC sized boys. Sanders has the frame for it too.
