Autiger695 0
I love him as a receiver probably more than most. I think he is really great and exciting to watch...which leads me to say...Am I the only one that thinks he would have had excellent NFL potential as a running back? His cutting ability and shiftiness is probably second to none on our offense. He has great speed. He has a running back frame at 6' 1 and 203 pounds. And most of all he just plays like a running back. He is so great on reverses because he has great vision and knows when and where to change direction (see td run in Iron Bowl). And he gets tons of YAC because he just makes people miss and doesnt go down on first contact (see A-day). These are just my thoughts. I think he will push 1000 yards at receiver this season though. Vandelay 5
You're not alone. I hope the coaches will find ways to utilize him that will bring out the best from the high amount of potential he has... not just at WR. I completely agree about cutting ability and shiftiness. And I have a sneaking suspicion that my thread brought your thought about!
Autiger695 0
haha actually no. I have been meaning to post that for a while. That was actually who I was thinking he would resemble back there at rb. They are just about the same size and build.

Not at all, I was just referring to a "crazy prediction" I made. Though, I can't help but see his rushing yards dramatically increase this season. We have so much talent and depth at WR, why not utilize Zachery more from backfield where he seems to excel every time he touches the ball? (where we don't have quite as much depth). StatTiger 3,188
Zachery has great speed and solid cutting ability but I would not consider him extremely elusive in terms of lateral movement. Most of his big plays in the running game, were designed to take advantage of his speed in open space and catching the defense pursuing in the opposite direction. To be a great running back, you must possess the ability to run through traffic, which is often about vision, awareness and instinct as much as power and speed. In the types of runs we have witnessed Zachery involved in, I just don’t think there is enough to gauge his ability to run through traffic. Speed wise, I would consider T-Zach to be one of the faster players on the roster but there are several players far more elusive than Zachery. Because he's been a receiver for the majority of his football career, I would say it's a safe bet that will be his ticket to the NFL too. On this same subject line, I would love to see Travante Stallworth moved to RB but I'm just hoping he can fully recover from his knee injury at this point. 2 cents
Funnthasun 0
Great thoughts ..... he does seem to be able to utilize his speed more in space ... so not sure how that would translate to a true NFL running back
Guest gkc81
The way T-Zac runs reminds me of a running back we had Dye's first year; I think his name was Persons.

On a different note, other than incoming freshmen I cant really think of anyone else that can match Zachery's elusiveness on our offense. I know Stallworth is supposedly near impossible to tackle, but I didnt really see enough of him before he got hurt to form an opinion. Maybe QCarr is close...Anyway there is no doubt TZach will be an NFL wide receiver this time next year though.
