Why would you say such a thing? bama doesn't cheat! They run a classy program, and they have learned their lessons from all the other times.  ;)

I do believe when satan leaves,  he will either leave like ole Pretty Boy Pete or they will chase him out with bricks.

Satan gives me the impression he is above the law and untouchable. I believe that will be his downfall and the turds will recieve the punishment they have skirted for years.

The problem is that he is above the law in t town. My girlfriend (God bless her soul) is from tuscaloosa. Her dad is a "tide pride" member and all that crap, but he told me a story about sabear's mercedes SUV. He told me that during his first season at bama, he went over a curb late at night and totaled his car. He told me that not only did he get that incident completely brushed under the rug, but he had a brand new mercedes suv in his driveway the next morning from my GF's dad's buddy (car dealer). If any other high profile figure had a late night accident of any kind (Damon Evans) it would not go that quietly.

Well i can't speak to whether he was drinking and driving or not. I'm sure like most coaches they are given use of university Vehicles. If that's the case, I don't see it very unusual to have a new Mercedes in the driveway the next morning.. The Mercedes plant is just up the road, and I'm sure they have some deal with the school.. It's just not possible to hide something like that. People like to talk, not matter what school they pull for.....

On the one hand I hope he is drunk on the sidelines during their games this year..

Is that the one where he supposedly hit a tree that was across the road?  I never believed that explanation. I figured they were hiding something.

Before I say what I'm about to, I must say this is ONLY guess work on my part. Is Michigan tanks again this year, they will be searchng for a new HC. I have a strong feeling the "short one" will be right in the thick of the hunt and could take it if offered. IF uat wins another national championship, then his name will be in the hat for sure and he will be offered and out the doors he goes. What more would he have to prove by staying uat after this year?

This is as bad as the post in the football or recruiting forum about the Cam Newton rumors.  If I made $4 million a year, you better bet my M-Class would be replaced the next morning if i have an accident.  I doubt Saban was drunk.  Hate him if you want (and that is a waste of hate), but he is too disciplined to do be driving around trashed.  Money makes problems go away, and dont forget that first and foremost, Saban is rich.

Where in what my post earlier did I imply that saban was drunk? I was just giving an example of pampering and willingness to keep things hush hush that makes saban think he is above the law and the ncaa.

Guys, a few of things.

First of all, why would he want the Michigan job?  He has no connection to that program and they won't match what UAT pays.  Besides, the weather sucks.  He likes good weather.

Secondly, I would think that, if possible, the same thing would happen in Auburn if one of our coaches had a similar issue.

Thirdly, the only thing being investigated at UAT right now is the Darius trip, right?  He will be exhonerated in that case.  It may be the pull UAT and lil nicky has or it may be because he "paid" for the trip.  I think he gets a game or two suspension just for being stupid.  But, I don't see how UAT gets punished in any way for one player's stupidness.

I'll weigh in, but it's only my opinion.  There is no place for the "wee man" to go.  He has tried the pros, but I believe he sincerely prefers college football.  He has plenty of money, and is worshipped in T-town and the college football media.  The biggest problem a man with his ego has:  "Now that I have climbed to the mountaintop, where is the next mountain?"  He needs another challenge:  this year, it will be to repeat as NCs.  Then next year, where's the mountain?  It's not Michigan, IMO there's nowhere else to go.  That will be a major problem for him, because he can't find the next mountain to climb.

A lot of this is really a bunch of stupid crap.  We say they cheat.  They say we cheat.  To an outsider, we probably look guiltier.  The facts are that Saban won a title before he got there, and he won again since. He is undisputedly one of the best college coaches in the country.  He recruits differently than we do.  His approach focuses on winning, on getting players to the NFL, on his record of success.  Our approach is on family, on the relationships you build, on the fairness of our program, on our graduation rates.  Saban has the mentality of "I will win, and I'll do what I must to win."  Our approach is "if we recruit the best players possible, with the best team mentalities, and building from the ground up, we will win." The differences are subtle.  But regardless, it is sorry and childish that both sides talk about cheating without evidence year in and year out.  Both programs have cheated.  Dye and Bryant were huge cheaters.  Both were successful.  Cheating is harder now, with so much information available on the net.  Let's focus on the field, on recruiting, and so forth.  If anything was evident last year, with the huge talent gap between us and them, it was that Saban got straight up outcoached in the Iron Bowl.  Take away one of Todd's bad passes to Tommy Trott and we win.

weeman's history tells us that he only stays at one place for a short time.  He has turned programs around, made them successful, watched them mellow and then he leaves.  I fully expect the pattern to continue.

The best way to judge what a person will do in the future is to look at what they've done in the past.  And you can quote me on this...

Update on the UT inquiry:  of course, it relates to hostesses and other violations, but the NCAA is questioning former UT assistants under Kiffin, including Lance Thompson, Jim Chaney, and Eddie Gran.

UT will continue to pay the price for bringing that disease to Knoxville.  Three years of Kiffin might have brought the death penalty to Knoxville, and the SEC doesn't need that.  But I won't be shocked if he turns the new PAC 12 into the PAC 11.  He and Orgeron have no ethics in recruiting...

The case is being built against uat, just let it play out. You can't cheat forever and not get caught.

Yep...there is no reason for him to go to another football program.  Like it or not the Alabama job is one of the best in college football historically and with all of the control they administration gave Saban over the program he'd be nuts to go anywhere else.  As I see it the only other goal he would have would be to try to create a dynasty like what the Bear did (though I do think that's impossible with the rules the NCAA have these days).  Saban will either retire at Alabama or go the Pete Carrol route and give the NFL one more try but I don't even see that happening.

+1

Very good post!

The man is one of the best college coaches in the country.  Like him or hate him, it's the truth.

The constant bashing on each team about cheating is juvenile, IMO.  EVERY program cheats, AU is not immune.
