Who's returning punts this year?

OK, so we are now 4 weeks away from opening day.

Although Troop said competition was WIDE OPEN, who do you think will be our punt return man?

Here are my top possibilities: Philip Pierre-Louis, Trovon Reed, Demond Washington, Ryan White, Quindarius Carr, OR maybe just put in Ladarious Phillips?! haha jk, but seriously.

Just a guess, but I think it will be Trovon Reed. He appears to have good hands, a lot of speed, and the ability to make people miss.

Reed is what Ive heard but heck why not Burns, McCalebb and McNeal too?

why not have a few dudes back there with different styles for the op to worry about?

I think it will be Q Carr getting the first shot, with Trovon working 2nd team and waiting in the wings to take over if need be. To me, I just don't see PPL ever becoming a constant contributor or impact player anymore, in any facet of the game, IMO.

In the video that I saw, it looks like Troop has the guys catching the ball with the hands and not the body to minimize drops.

Yeh I was wonedering about the way they were catching with their hands.  Will that be the way they do it in the game . . . revolutionary if so.

Highly doubt they will do it that way in games. He is just trying to get them to concerntrate on the nose of the ball. Too risky to catch the ball like that in a game situation.

live in the bham area and think  chris davis would do a great job. he didnt go to alot of camps while in high school but he has great hands quick feet . would like to see him get a shot

I don't like Washington returning punts. Sure he is good at it, but we need him to be at 100% on defense this year. I like one of these young new guys to get the position. We are stacked a wide outs, so lets use some of them. Could you imagine reed returning for 4 years? He wouldn't return any his senior year cause he would be too dangerous!!!

my vote goes to anyone who was not on the team last year.!! this was awful and we had nobody that could handle the catch. lets try the freshmen, it cant get any worse.

The above link is to highlights of Reed as a high school sophomore.  Again, simply devastaing.  He will be a scary punt returner.
