AuburnTigers1 0
I got a little bad news about Dyer last night. I was told that Dyer is struggling pretty bad right now with the offense. He is missing his blocking assignments and struggling with the plays in general. This person did say however that there is no doubt that he is an athlete, but he has a few mountains to climb for sure. Obviously this is fairly normal for freshman, but I hope he catches on quick. On a good note they took the orange jersey off of Newton and it is at least taking 2 guys to take him down. Bynes came untouched and drilled Newton and Bynes just bounced right off of him. That's certainly nothing to turn your nose up at. We all know what kind of player Bynes is!
JwgreDeux 1,279
I would be shocked if they ever take the orange jersey off of Cam during practice. Much less let him take a huge shot on a blitz without blowing the play dead. You may want to check your sources.

AuburnTigers1 0
I guarantee you my source is a good one. Malzahn was blowing the whistle by the way. You don't have to believe it if you don't want to, but this person has NEVER been wrong!!!!
AuburnTgr05 0
I'm not surprised. Give the kid a break, college is a big adjustment without throwing a scholarship sport in the mix.
Jackson-Sullivan 0
FYI, they have been hitting (locking up) but not tackling to the ground to this point. That will start today when they dress out in full pads.
GoCrazyAuburn 0
nothing here, move along. our offense is difficult enough that i am not very surprised.

JwgreDeux 1,279
not saying your source is bad, just that the part about Cam getting blown up and not wearing an orange jersey I would find shocking. I love to hear what others have heard from those close to the program, didn't mean to offend.
stealthyfan 124
Struggling with the offensive lanes? Check. The young man is a bright fellow. He'll be ready.

AuburnTigers1 0
Ok, MAYBE I have the Cam story mixed up. But I'm not far off. The part about Dyer I know isn't incorrect. I forgot you have to be ST to say you heard something about practice in general. Don't worry I will keep my mouth shut in the future.

Rednilla 5,449
Not so surprising that Dyer is struggling to keep up; he's a true freshman coming into the SEC. It was expected that he would have some trouble with blocking assignments and such, which is why it's so good that he has a guy like Mario to play in front of him and teach him what he needs to know. No worries.

Don't take offense, I would have responded the same way no matter who said it. I hear things from people all the time that know someone who saw this or heard that, sometimes it good info and sometimes its not. Figuring out what is what is part of what gets us through the off season. Don't take offense and keep sharing.

Dyer is a TRUE FRESHMAN going into his 5th practice patience grasshopper.
Lint 0
What freshman doesn't struggle in a new system their first week of practice? Give the young guys a chance to learn their way around campus, much less learn the AU offensive system.
jvilletiger 0
McCalleb didn't do much pass blocking either, but before he got hurt, he was on his way to atleast a 700-800 yard rushing year. I think Dyer is still going to get 8-10 carries a game, minimum.

Give the young guys a chance to learn their way around campus, much less learn the AU offensive system. Most freshman running backs have trouble picking up blocking schemes and techniques early. It is much different than what they did in highschool. That is the main reason they don`t usually start early in their careers. As to the QB situation; they are in helmets and shells and though they are allowed to hit, they aren`t supposed to take a player to the ground. Since none of us were there; we will just have to take someone`s word till we know better.

No one intended any offense here...we're all family...no doubt you felt you were telling the truth as you heard it... Everyone here wants to know the truth of what is going on and we get only a limited amount of info with closed practices... However, if a point doesn't line up = QB being an open target to be hit even before they are in full pads...raises a red flag...questions are going to follow... WDE1345162774 0
Lets just say Dyer will be just fine by the Clemson game when he hits the century mark for the time.... NO PROBELM WITH HIM. What he is going through is night and day compared to his HS format.
Weegle777 78
No worries about Dyer, it's not like we run a straight power I offense. If it has some of the best defenses in the SEC big time confused, I couldn't imagine coming in as a true freshman and seeing it for the first time. He will pick it up, I have no doubt. He is a smart football player.
kflah 0
I think that I'd be more worried if any FR came in and had NO difficulty picking everything up - CGM's offense is quite complex, I would imagine.

It was a full on attack. That's fine. I learned my lesson. I will keep what I hear to myself from now on. I forgot how the claws come out when people on here don't agree with what you are saying. That is a reason we have lost people on this board that were good people. But we still act like we are all a big family and everything is wonderful in the world on this site. I understand the reservation in believing what I said. I probably would have had my doubts, but there is a right way and a wrong way to do it and overall it was handled poorly. Weegle777 78
AuburnTigers1, if the info you recieved is true then don't worry about what anybody else says, but you have to consider that Brandon and some of the other guys on the AE staff have pretty good access to Auburn. You were trying to bring something cool and exciting about Cam to the table and there is nothing wrong with that. No worries brother and don't leave just because of this. WDE!!!!!!!
