bills83au 0
Wasn't sure where to put this but thought this might be best for any interested since we have talked Wilder on here. Ely and Posada, their QB (19-0) and OL respectively, are announcing their choices Wednesday. Posada sounds like Michigan. not sure about Ely. Wilder soon--Aug. 18. They lost a lot of talent last year but have been resilient, we'll see. anyway, interesting reading for me and hopefully a few others. Hope they can stand the pressure. http://highschool.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1108735

WBE_Jerry 0
I honestly could care less who the Tide recruits at quarterback--as long as the current staff is in place, they're all going to play in the exact same buttoned-down, game-manager-type style. Wouldn't matter if it was a five-star phenom or, say, Chris Todd--they ask so little of their quarterbacks it barely even matters.
bills83au 0
I posted it due to past discussion involving Plant and Wilder. I found it very odd that the turds were not even mentioned on his radar until he announced. He had three other schools he was down to. he is a winner at the HS level. Having attended Plant, I hated to see him go there...a place where I could not pull for him. hence the post.

AUCE05 370
When i found out Ely committed to the turds my first thought was is this just to improve their chances with Wilder? They'll (turds) only have two QBs on scholly next year. They had to take a QB this year and next. They're really after that kid from Hueytown that could be the number 1 player/QB in the country next year.
bills83au 0
in case some are interested, Wilder has said he has Eliminated the Turds! He is down to UF, FSU and UGA. he also said he was surprised Ely chose the turds, thought he would choose LSU or Wake. anyway, here is the link and it says all three are recruiting him at RB. http://hometeam.tampabay.com/recruiting/2010/aug/11/james-wilder-down-three-decision-day-approaches/

paheadley 0
Really..if you're a QB, why do you commit to alabama? So you can sit on the bench behind McElroy, Sims, McCarron, and Ogilvie? Wonder what Ely was thinking there..

Zeke Pike is the most likely 5* at this point. Barton Simmons agreed with me FWIW.

Budapesttiger 2
With Kiehl Frasier coming on board this year it seems like it will be difficult for us to sign one of the top QB's again. What do y'all think will happen? Will we sign a good prospect but maybe not top of the class?
AU4ME81 0
If you are competitive and believe you are the best or certainly one of the best then you will not shy away from the competition, if you desire to play on your favorite team. No one knows whether an injury is going to impact a key player each year, i.e. Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown for AU in 2002-2004. In addition, some athletes simply like to be playing with the best available, which is what Pete Carrol had going at USC for so many years. No, wait a minute, that may have been the perks that were made available from the booster corp. Oh well, I stand by my original thought.
