Could this year be another 2004 for College Football?

Yeah....I could see it. It could happen again in any year, which is why they need to dump the BCS system, and have a playoff. Let it be settled on the field, and not in the media, or by a computer.

Well college football live got me thinking when they did the breakdown of Nebraska today. They could very well go undefeated. If Boise State beats VT they will go undefeated. Ohio State could do it. An SEC team could do it. Idk i think this is gonna be a crazy season.

Then you can't forget about TCU... and what if Miami beats OSU in their game then runs the table?

Hey, great point! Just more of a reason to think that this could easily happen again this year.

I dont see it. I think it'll be more like 2007 where there were multiple 1 and 2 loss teams. LSU won the NC that year with 2 losses. I'm bored, so here's a breakdown of the teams in discussion with an undefeated season:

SEC: I dont think any team will because there's so much parity in the SEC this year, just dont see it

Big 10: Ohio St is the only team that could IMO, but it's gonna be really tough. They play Miami home, Penn St home, @Wisconsin, and @Iowa. They'll lose 1 of these at least IMO.

Big East: No team is good enough

ACC: Miami and VT are the teams that could. Miami starts the season @OSU, @Pitt, @Clemson, and FSU home. They will lose at least 1 if not 2 of those, that's a brutal opening. And then they still have UNC home, @Georgia Tech, and VT home. They will lose 2-4 games. As for VT, they have Boise St neutral to start. Then near the end of the season, they have Georgia Tech home, @UNC, and @Miami in consecutive weeks. I dont see them going undefeated, but they could have only 1 loss.

Big 12: Texas and Oklahoma lost too much to make it through a very good Big 12, they'll lose a game or two. As for Nebraska, they have a very realistic shot at going undefeated. They only tough games are @Washington and Texas home, then probably Texas or Oklahoma in the championship. I just dont think their offense is good enough to go undefeated, I see 1 loss and winning the Big 12.

Pac 10: No outstanding teams, no one will go undefeated.

Others: TCU and Boise St are interesting. Boise has VT at neutral field, and Oregon St home. If they make it through those two, they'll go undefeated. that said, I think they'll lose to VT in a close game. TCU's only tough games are Oregon St neutral and @Utah. I see them going undefeated.

As wierd as it sounds, a TCU vs Nebraska NCG is very possible. I think this year's NC will have at least one team that doesnt really fit. Maybe Nebraska vs Ohio St, or TCU vs Florida. This season wil be interesting

Nebraska is one of the most overrated teams in the country. They lost to ISU last year, they have no offense, and Suh is gone.

VT will beat Boise, and I look for VT to run the table this year.

I think it will be VT and Ohio State for all the marbles.

No team stands out from the rest this year to open.

My list of possibles:

1.Oklahoma has a lot of talent and the Big 12 is still not outstanding top to bottom.

2. Texas.  loads of talent but a season without McCoy will be rough on them.  if they groove early they can run at it.

3. Ohio State. Let's face it, they are men amongst boys in the Big 10 but I still think they lose one.

4. TCU. I think they have Oregon State early and then pretty much no one else.

5. Florida. If they get by Bama I think they can get by everyone in the SEC.

6. Bama. Would shock me if they did but I still think they lose 2 this year.

7. Boise State. I think this is the year they play for it.  They have petitioned for the last could years and have now gotten in the position to get in the game.

8. Virginia Tech has the players to do it but I don't think they will.

My pick: One loss Texas vs undefeated Boise State with TCu complaining from the outside.
