how lsu fans thought Ely was a lock and he commits to uat, taking one of their spots. I dont think this is a very good choice for Ely. Bama has taken a qb for the last 4 years.

I guess that means that one of those other QB's just got his greyshirt, or maybe will just mysteriously disappear.

I am NOW convinced that Saban is in a points race,  not a recruiting race for the best athletes at the positions of need.  They need another QB like a hole in the head.  You know, Sims just barely qualified, so my guess is he's not a QB but a WR or ATH.

With only a few slots left for the likes of Crowell , Cyris, McClowney, etc,., I've got a feeling this was not "wee mans" best day.  It's what happens when you offer everyone.

I am NOW convinced that Saban is in a points race,  not a recruiting race for the best athletes at the positions of need.  They need another QB like a hole in the head.  You know, Sims just barely qualified, so my guess is he's not a QB but a WR or ATH. 

After this year they will only have 2 QBs on scholarship. McArron and Phillip Simms. So yes they did need a QB this class. 6'1" is kinda small and I don't think he will ever see the field.

Isn't McCarron a soph?

Unfortunately, at bammer, you don't really have to be a great QB.  Look at Mediocrelroy.  He is nothing special.  Sure, he's never lost a game, but I attribute that to the talent levels around him.  I truly think he loses them at least two games this year.  Stop the run, and make McElroy beat you, and I don't believe that he can.

2 for 2 there SMT!  If Ms Pocohontas doesn't get hurt, it may have turned out different, because Texas was playing some decent defense, until they couldn't move the ball due inexperience.  But, even with a new qb they started moving the ball later on in the game.

Actually man, I don't understand your reasoning. Your point is to bring Chris Todd just build Ginger McElroy up? Honestly, if teams line up and stuff the uat ground attack, do you really believe McElroy is gonna throw 300+ yards a game and lead his team to victory every week? I don't.
