I want to back up the up coming football season from my DVR to my computer so that I can watch it over and over again to get my fix durring the week through the season and throughout next summer when there isn't much Auburn football on the tube.

Can someone with the knowlege tell me how to get the video from my DVR to My computer?

I figured you might be able to save the movies on your DVR to its USB flash drive. However, the only info I could find seems to be 3 or more years old and we know how fast technology changes.

Due to piracy laws, it seems that most satellite providers try and prevent people from loading movies from their DVR to a USB flash drive. The only info real info I could find talks about paying a fee to activate your USB and then it seems you still would have routers to hook up to your computer as well as PCI cards (?) and possibly other things.

The best advice I can give is investing in a DVD recorder. That way you can burn the what ever you want to the DVD, FINALIZE the disc, and then play it on you computer. You can find several on EBAY and such for under a $100 and some even under $75 (all them are standard def, of course). Now I know $75-$100 isn't chump change in this economy (atleast for me). However, I will say that buying a DVD recorder is one of the best investments I could have made.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. I'm sure there are others here who are alot more tech savy than me and maybe they can provide you with a more suitable answer.  Either way, good luck.
