The Bull with turf toe?

Recommended Posts

Of all the stupid painful things to get!??

LB Eltoro Freeman is in a boot. He has turf toe in his right foot … suffered during the final play of Wednesday’s scrimmage.

Too lazy to click on link...how long is he out for?  :banghead:

No details.  but turf toe can linger.  He should be able to play,  but he needs to rest it as long as he can.

To lazy to click a link?  that is pretty lazy.

Can someone please explain "turf toe" to me? My friend's son who played for ECU had that but I'm not sure I understand what it is exactly. TIA

I have Eltoro in my prayers, because from what I've heard.....it's painful and it lingers.

It is when you sprain the ligiment on the end of your big toe. It is painful and lingers, but it used to be considered a fake injury until Deion Sanders got it in the 90s.

turf toe? what is this exactly? ive heard about it before but never really thought about it.

I think it is a jamming or hyperextention of the big toe's  knuckle.  I'v been told it hurts like heck. and can linger for months if not rested.    I imagine he will still play in games,  but the next few weeks are going to really suck for him.

I had turf toe middle of my senior season and i went 1 week in a boot to give it full rest and then just taped it up and played with a special insole from the doc.  You can play and it didnt really hinder my recovery to play, sure it hurts, but in the heat of the game your adrenaline is pumping so fast that most of the time it didnt really do anything but annoy me

Can't say that I've ever had Turf Toe. Sprained Ankle constantly but not Turf Toe. I wore Reebok cleats though. This seems to be popping up a lot since the swap to Under Armour cleats. I'm not saying it is the reason but it sure is leading that way.
