aulwyr 0
In the latest practice vid up on AL.com, I am pretty sure Trooper is referring to LaDarious Phillips as "Sugar Bear"! Has a nice ring to it...

AUMaitland 0
Sugar Bear? hmmmm....not sure I'd call a 290 pound guy running a 4.6 sugar bear but ok. Little George Foreman....better.
GoCrazyAuburn 0
stinks to hear Toro was in a boot. I think he will be fine, but he needs all the reps he can get. I really am excited about him this season, but he needs to understand this defense and not just rely on his physical ability. Hopefully the time watching from the sideline will help him conceptually see this defense.
aulwyr 0
As long as he's not sweet on the field!! After seeing the people he runs through in his highlight reel, I doubt that will be a problem!
augentleman 0
As far as size, he reminds me of B Jacobs from a few years back. B Jacobs attitude was terrible and he didn't give a hoot about AU. Jacobs wanted to get to the league and that was all that mattered. I believe Sugar Bear is happy to be where he is and ready to get after folks. Weegle777 78
Trooper was on Jox in Birmingham today and he said Phillips is a freak athlete. He said that Phillips is a biscuit short of 295 lbs and can still do a flatfooted backflip. This guy will hurt somebody before he is done. WDE!!!!!!! Brandon Jacobs loved AU and still does. He was buried on the depth chart behind NFL First Round Top 5 talent, not just one mind you , but two backs ahead of him. Brandon made the change to Tight End and also tried to be a defensive player. He gave Linebacker and Defensive End a shot before transferring. He was a very hard worker on special teams and gave us his all. As a matter of fact, there was an SI article about him after he made it to the league and became a member of the Giants. In the photo for the article, he was driving an Escalade and he had a personalized AU tag. It said "RB 27" if I remember correctly. This is after he transfered to Southern Illinois mind you. To say that he did not love AU because he transferred to better his situation which resulted in Millions of dollars for his family does not a bad man make. Yes, I hate we lost him, but to say he didn't love AU is total fabrication.
Weegle777 78
Jacobs was a special teams freak, remember when he destroyed the Vanderbilt player on kickoff team as the wedge buster?
augentleman 0
2 things I remember distinctly about Jacobs--he made the comment in an interview that the only good thing he got from Auiburn was his wife. The other was at the Music City Bowl when he walked off the field while the team was at the other end celebrating. I told my wife that he wouldn't be around long after that. I loved him blowing the guy up at Vandy but I never thought he was sold on AU. Being behind Ronnie and Caddy was tough and he knew what was coming. AUFan1 0
just curious, but did Ladarius get the name Big Sexy, because of that porno flick music on his highlight video? I was watching it earlier, and the nick name and the music just fit.

Yes, I hate we lost him, but to say he didn't love AU is total fabrication. I want to start by saying that I loved Brandon Jacobs while at Auburn and still love him to this day. He did come into a situation that would be hard for anyone to get a lot of carries. I don't remember him playing tight end but maybe he did. The thing that I do remember is some of the interviews while at AU where he came across as selfish. I was at the Mississippi State game when Cadillac scored 5 touchdowns and Jacobs also had 150+ yards. When he was asked in a post game interview about Cadillac scoring 5 TDs, instead of giving him any credit, he stated that he had 7 TDs in a game in JUCO. He's still my man and I watch him every chance I get.
