NCTiger 0
That little sawed off midget standing on his soap box is a joke. This is all about CONTROL and his attempt to appear like he a coach that enforces NCAA compliance. Riiiiiiiiiight ! The NCAA should spend as much time in tiny town as they plan to spend in cocky top. If anything at all comes up with Lance Thompson it would be negligent to not examine bama's practices closer since he delivered 8 of bama's key recruits before he bolted to TN. I just read something on CBS sports talking about Auburn possibly getting a boost in recruiting because Chizik allows NFL scouts to visit : players gets more looks enhancing their draft status. Chizik was also the coach at SEC days in B'ham stating that even though the agents were wrong pursuing players, a player should show more loyalty to his school (that gave him a free education), his teammates and the staff. Given saban is all about himself I guess he knows his only chance is to keep scouts out. Chizik deserves more credit and saban deserves for someone to drop a dime on his @$$ for a closer look at his "process". War Eagle !

Guest gkc81
I don't know about that, but I do know that the last time he walked into a room full of smoke and mirrors it took Mal Moore a week to find him. He got lost when he walked under a coffee table.

WoodyAU95 0
If (and when) bammer loses 1 or 2 games this season they are not supposed to, the wheels on the Saban wagon will come off quickly. He'll blame everyone, except himself. The tide sidewalk alumni will turn on him and it'll be a hoot to watch the feeding frenzy. His boyfriend Paul Finebaum may even have a harsh word for him. As far as the NCAA concerning bammer.........its just a matter of time. It'll be fun to watch and enjoy.
BiggbAUler 0
It's just $aban getting back in the news. You're exactly right. He wants to boost his self esteem by thinking the college football world sits around and waits to see what direction he moves on something. Who cares that he banned NFL scouts from coming to practice? Teach discipline to your players and it doesn't matter who you have at practice or around the program. Like Coach Chizik said, the players know right and wrong, they have to take responsibility and understand the consequences.

The SandMntTiger 9
But don't forget Red, there was a lot of love for Stallings to. However, cannibals can't help but to eat their own.

I just don't see it, not the year after a national championship. I do have to say, though, on another topic, that I love the clip in your signature, SMT. I can still quote the call on that play, I watched it over and over so many times: "Nix gonna float one for Sanders, Sanders...OH HE CAUGHT IT AT THE TWO, AND HE DIVED IN! TOUCHDOWN AUBURN! TOUCHDOWN AUBURN! Oh my goodness! Frank Sanders went up over Tommy Johnson or Antonio Langham, he caught the ball at the two, how he held it I don't know, but he dived into the end zone, and Auburn's right back at the stick of it! I really appreciate it man. I was think about changing it the other day (I got a cool Cadillac gif I've yet to use) but I just couldn't bring myself to remove Frank from the board. Weegle777 78
TIFWIW, I think that if a coach didn't have anything to hide, he wouldn't feel the need to make it look like he is a coach that enforces NCAA compliance in the national media. Innocent people have nothing to hide.

Innocent people have nothing to hide. You may have a point Weegle - if Saban's coaching history was such that he's had his teams placed on probation before, I would be more inclined to agree. I just can't remember any of his teams having NCAA probation issues, or any of his current or former asst coaches having problems either.

I think the difference here is that the local media does not have the courage to call Saban out when/if things start going downhill. You can already see how intimidated they are by him from any of the interviews he gives. It only took him a month or 2 to take control and let them know where they stand. They are worried that if they criticize him they'll be shut out in the future, and then they'll have to rely on 3rd parties for any Bama reporting they do. If you're expecting the media to come down on him at any point, I'm afraid you'll have to rely on the national media outlets for that.
