Quietmaninthecorner 2,033
nice double posts by us. Like wearing the same suit to work. SO was it our DB stepping up, or just a crappy day by the WRs?
auclassof04 0
He was happy with Goodwin and Kitchens correct? Maybe he was just annoyed with some guys who had minor injuries that didn't practice?
FearTheTigers 0
I'm not certain how much to read into this. I really like Trooper, but sometimes he does tend to go overboard when it comes to his sayings regarding injured players: "The guys that stood around and watched and found a way to get out of practice didn't. We're going to get all that taken care of." "You can't make the club in the tub." I doubt that many of the players really enjoy being injured, but in Trooper's defense, he's probably just attempting to keep them motivated by giving them that extra incentive to get back on the field. AU lb's are beasts 2
I think we all remember the guys in high school that would want to miss practice because they were sore or something. I think he had somebody do that and he didnt like it. As a group, when one guys messes up, you all mess up. Accountability is something he stresses so they probably all payed. Tiger Growlin 0
My theory on this: Troop was super excited with a lot of the receivers and said it publicly. The players read the comments and got a little "comfortable" and didn't work as hard the next practice thinking i've already impressed the coaches so I don't have to much much today. Troop sees guys who didn't give their all and now is letting them know about it. That's what good coaches do. Tell you when you're doing right and when you're not. They gotta take the bad with the good.

Quietmaninthecorner 2,033
JUst watched a video of Coach Taylor Right after practice. He was sincerily angry... or I should say... embarassed by "his group". Which I assume is just the WRs. The good news is that our WRs are going to be in exceptional shape by the end of 2-a-days. Rednilla 5,449
Maybe I'm nuts, but this is what stood out to me the most: Ladarious Owens, after praising T-Will for "speak[ing] our language" and not sugar coating things, said, "I did fair. Coaches said I did good, but I know I can play a lot better." Ladies and gentlemen, that's a true freshman talking. The coaches are praising him, but he's not satisfied. My already high opinion of Owens just went up a notch.

This is a special team I think we will be unstoppable on offense. Once again... another bold statement. I'll do you one better: I think the defense is going to be the yang to the offense's ying, coming up with the big plays when called upon time after time. I also think the D will get better and better as the season goes on, with the young guys stepping up more and more. Coach Rock has already said that all the freshmen D-linemen will play, and I expect to see Jeffrey Whitaker pushing for a starting position by midseason. That having been said, I still think the defense will give up its share of yards, I just think there will be more turnovers and more tackles for loss to go along with whatever is given up. That big play potential, if it does indeed come to fruition, could well give us the little bit extra to turn around and win the best division in all of college football, the SEC West. Time will tell. Oh now, I agree with you Red... the defense is going to be the key this year... but having an unstoppable offense is never a bad thing... I have predicted many times that the Defense will plus 1 the offense this year. Some seem think differently, but thats ok... there were a few times this past season where the d out performed the offense...this year I believe both units will play at a high level together... and ultimately, Auburn will win a lot of games. This is a special team Kitchens comes across as a hard working, cool sob. As far as Trooper goes he's just setting the mood for the year and lighting a fire when it needs to be lit. I would have to believe Trooper is an awesome motivater for the AU receivers.
