A northeast Alabama man was in trouble with the law the minute he was released from the Boaz jail, the Gadsden Times reports.

As Johnny Earl Corbin, 45, of Albertville left the jail, he jumped into an idling police car and raced off nearly striking a jailer. As he fled, he outraced a following patrol car at speeds exceeding 100 mph, and then impersonating an officer, he pulled over another motorist whom he beat and robbed as pursuing officers finally found him, according to the newspaper.
