Punt returner

I remember hearing during recruiting that the CB out of Birmingham, Chris Davis, was a real possibility at punt returner and have not seen or heard anything about him so far.  Any news?  Definite redshirt?

Car and Mincy handled most of the punts in the scrimmage and seem to be the too two. Reed also returned a punt.

Also, Jonathan Mincy and Anthony Morgan.

I knew Mincy possess the talent to be a special cornerback but I didn't know he was fast and quick!! Is Mincy fast?  Chris Davis is a beast even if he doesn't return punts and will make a name for himself at AU.

Well, ever since the offseason and really since he signed, I predicted Reed would be our PR by Week 3 or 4. I'm not gonna change that prediction now, although it seems some other guys have definitely stepped up and entered the mix. All I know is that the punt return game CANNOT be any worse than it was last year. It stunk worse than molded cheese.

After the Saturday scrimmage, QCarr is now the PR going into the season, unless he gets injured in one of the practice sessions leading up to the 9/4/10 kick-off.

i hope i dont get accused of being negative, but if qcarr is the best pr now why was he not given the chance last year. i think every skill guy on the team tried except him.

I am just going to throw this out there.

Carr emerged in the bowl game with the 43 yard touchdown catch and was not heard from again until his MVP performance in the A-day scrimmage. He got better in the off season, and perhaps he practiced a good bit at PR to improve his skills and he is poised to take the job this year.

I honestly dont know what happened... but Tzach and Darvin Adams certainly got better in one year... it does make a difference.

The only guess that I can throw out there is that Carr has given the coaches a reason to believe he is the right man for the job.

He showed a lot of speed in the spring... if he gets loose, he will have the jets to house a couple if you ask me.
