ausoldiergrad 57
"Beast"! I have had enough. Now I know I have been guilty of using the term when I was new to posting here. But even then, I would like to think that I reserved the term for only the most freakish and gargantuan of athletes. I hear the term beast being thrown around to describe 175 lb. dbs. Come on! Can we all agree that the word "beast" needs a break from being associated with 17-22 year old football players? Please?
Rednilla 5,449
I do see your point, but I happen to like the word as it pertains to athletes...
ausoldiergrad 57
I prefer it be used on packaderms (sp?).
ausoldiergrad 57
As a 31 year old man standing 6' 2", and a pretty athletic 205 lbs...I feel kind of silly referring to a 17 year old kid that I could bench press 20 times as a beast. I get using it on Jeffrey Whitaker, but PPL is not and never will be a beast.
Shift 352
I agree the term beast is way over used. I actually make a concerted effort not to use it when describing a player and I wish others would too.

Mattco 0
Personally, i think that we should amp up our use of the word beast. Just don't feel it is used enough and should be used at least twice as much.

45Tiger 0
My vote goes to "football player". That whole beastliness relativity theory was interesting though.
El Tiburon 1
What about the word, "Phenom" is that still good? Whatabout the word "cannon"? I hear Newton's got one.... hehe is that word still cool?

El Tiburon 1
I used to like it when people called Coach Tuberville, "The Riverboat Gambler" for his aggressive play calling, particularly on 4th down. But then I noticed they started calling other coaches by the same nickname. Has anyone else noticed this? Perhaps the nickname was around far before Ol' Tommy's tenture at AU? WarDamn2010 183
Would Fannin fit the "beast" criteria...I would call 5'11" and 232 lbs. pretty dang beastly.
AUFan1 0
Personally I cringe every time I hear the word "poised"... Wanna drinking game for fall Saturdays? Have a drink every time you hear that word. You won't make it to kickoff... It just sounds soo feminine when used to describe a "beastly" qb.. :banghead:

I think you should way at least 275 to be in the beast conversation though. And yes, that number is completely arbitrary.
El Tiburon 1
Instead of beast let's use behemoth.
ausoldiergrad 57
Then I think you have to be over 300 pounds.
SuperFlyEagle 0
Being called a beast is more than just size, it is more of an attitude IMO. A "go-getter/head buster" type of player (more descriptives phrases..)
The lions roar 119
One of roommates at Auburn dated a Beast. She was 5'4", 175 lb. Ran a 7.1 forty.
