UAT & FL trouble?

I was listening to fox sports on Friday and heard them discussing the current mess with agents & college players...

They singled out weeman and FL in particular, and were not flattering in the least...

And they stated that in 6-8 months expect the NCAA hammer to fall on both of them...and they clearly stated that they would not feel sorry for them either when it happens...

Anyone hearing any other word about this?

TIFWIW...

I just got some information from a friend who was telling me about something that Saban had done which was in violation of NCAA guidelines. This person is absolutely in a position to know, so I do believe that there is a violation in this area. What I don't know is how serious the violation is, or if this is the same issue that was being discussed on Fox. I was told that it had to do with the number of GAs and assistants on the payroll, and what their specific duties have been. He was/is way over the limit, and there may have been some illegal activity/contact with the players.

I'm posting a link that discusses the issue, but Bama is not mentioned specifically in this article. It's about OSU and MI.

Not that rumor actually sounds reasonable.  I remember when Saban came in how he skirted the rules about how many assistant coaches could be on the team by loading up with graduate assistants and creating new "non coaching" administrative possessions.  The guy has been good at finding loopholes in the past and I wont knock him for that but it stands to reason that eventually he'll find a loophole that really isn't one and will get spanked by the NCAA.

If I were most programs I wouldn't worry about this too much but with the microscope Bama's under they should be telling him to be a bit more conservative on pushing the limits of the rule book.

There could be something to this with both Florida and uat being in trouble with big brother. Who knows. It wouldn't be the first time they've gotton in trouble with the NCAA.

Rumors are always out there. I really don't care as long as AU keeps it clean and our players stay out of trouble. Sept. 4 almost here. WAR EAGLE!!!!!

One thing that has gotten my attention over the last few weeks is that Saban & Myers have been very visible and out spoken over the tragic abuse of their fine, outstanding, innocent young men who have been victimized by agents...

Guilty dog(s) bark(s) first?

Or, maybe a PR move to try to cut off any repercussions against their program?

I have zero inside info, but their actions have made me wonder...

I don't really want to imply that I have inside info on a regular basis. I don't. But my friend is in the world of college football, and I occasionally get some insight into Bama and a few other programs. My friend did not say Saban was in trouble for that personnel thing, just that he had done it, and it was causing some problems for young men who are trying to break into the coaching profession on the college level.

My friend, who has interacted with him many times,  has absolutely no respect or liking for Saban.

A little more info came in today. Saban knows he's gonna get in trouble over that agent thing, so he's cleaning up some other areas of non-compliance. TIFWIW, again.
