AUBSC76 0
As I've posted several times on this board, I am glad that Kyle Parker chose to come back to Clemson. As the class of our nonconference schedule, we need them to be considered a worthy foe when we play them and for them to be a contender in the ACC and he clearly makes them better. Here are a few articles....KP had a good scrimmage yesterday against what is considerted to be a stout defense, especially secondary... http://www.thestate.com/2010/08/14/1418325/parker-throws-3-tds-for-clemson.html More on his approaching deadline with the Rockies... (he's playing football this fall whether he signs or not) http://www.thestate.com/2010/08/13/1417076/parker-under-gun-as-baseball-deadline.html
au_weagle 0
I am still skeptical on how god Parker will be without Spiller. He is a quality QB, no doubt, but not the cornerstone player for Clemson's offense like many in Columbia think he will be.

ChuckTownTiger 0
Don't take Clemson lightly, they will put a competitive team on the field. Both Auburn and Clemson have a lot of unknowns at this point.
au_weagle 0
Thats a "make the orange, blue" week right? To make it work, everyone has got to buy into it. Navy Nightmare waskinda lame last year because it was a day game, and because it looked so mixed between orange blue and white. It gave the stadium a dead feel, not as electric. WarDamn2010 183
Maybe I'm seein things through the orange and blue glasses but...We play Mississippi State on a Thursday, that gives us 2 extra days to prep for Clemson. We should still be very fresh at that point and will have more depth on O and D. We should beat Clemson by 3 scores.
Sammy34 0
Posted by: WarDamn2010 We play Mississippi State on a Thursday Which is exactly what worries me. The State game is truly make-or-break for Auburn this year. It will be Cam's first SEC outing, and not only that, but on a Thursday night on the road. Realize that the underdog is four times more likely to win in a Thursday night game as opposed to the traditional Saturday game. A loss here will demoralize the team, and us fans will be a little down. That said, even in the event of a loss all is not doom and gloom. This staff certainly has Auburn headed in the right direction. Fans just need to realize that rebuilding can take time. Expectations are a little to high right now. Let us all remember Cam has yet to start a D-1 college game. Is it kickoff yet???????????????????????? War Eagle and damn it anyway.

In fact, they don't get the respect they deserve, just like Auburn. I hope we beat them, because they are rebuilding, but it will be a fight. RockyMtnTiger 0
Why worry? I go in confident we beat every team till the score at the end says otherwise. Miss St will be well coached and ready to play so will Auburn and the talent levels between us and State are considerable. It will not be a 3-2 tough as nails game like last year. Will our guys know they are in a game you bet and that is a good thing to get us sharp for Clemson, but we will win by 10-17 pts. I think our seniors learned a lot from Arkansas game and how they prepared and not to get full of the hype. I believe they will keep this team grounded along with the coaches. This is my opinion of course. WDE!!!

That Thursday Night game will be a make-or-break game for us and Miss St. If we win, we'll gain confidence going into two important games (Clemson, USCe) and hopefully lead to a great season. If State wins, theyll gain momentum and belief that they can have a good season, while we wouldnt be looking so good anymore. I cant wait!

Maybe it just me, but I believe you guys are putting way to much stock into a team that Auburn thrashed last year and will be expected to finish somewhere between 5th or 6th in the division this year. Will MSU be fired up? Sure. I've seen several MSU fans say that the pups plan on laying it all on the line v.s Auburn. However, its like Mike Tyson said, "everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth."

3rdgen 2
It has nothing to do with clemson or miss st it all has to do with auburn. If they come out and play like they are there to dominate and not let up till the final gun we will be fine. If they show up like lsu and arkansas games last year flat uninspired dropping passes, missing tackles, and getting penalties then we are in trouble. I hope it turns out to be the former rather than the latter.

If we lose to them, we better hope for a 6-6 record and an invite to the Pizza Bowl. I do understand that some people think it's cocky to think we'll easily go in and win, but we should have some confidence in our boys. I think most of this mentality comes from the Tubs era where we could lose to anyone and beat anyone. Our team resembled this look last year, but I hope those days are over. Also does anyone believe Chris Relf would start at QB anywhere else in the league?

Not saying it will be that easy this year, but this offense will be even more potent than it was a year ago... A lot of my Auburn buddies are worried about this game, perhaps im being unrealistic, but I dont see them being a threat, even on the road. The Auburn defense wont be to shabby either... all in all, I think Clemson and South Carolina pose bigger threats if you ask me. I still believe Auburn is the better team of the 3. I hope we beat them, because they are rebuilding, but it will be a fight. My sentiments exactly. They have mid-SEC-calibre talent and are better coached and motivated than they were under Tommy Bowden. Conversely, we are the class of their OOC schedule and they have a chance to make a statement on the national stage, on the road, against the SEC, in a game we will be favored to win. We SHOULD win because we have equal or better talent and are well-coached and are playing at home but I think it will be a dogfight to the end. Looking at the recent series, we won a close one, ugly, in the '97/'98 CFA bowl, and again in the '07 CFA bowl in OT. They are overdue to win a close one against us. Personally, I think our experienced O-line will carry the day for us against their defensive strengths - but next year will be a struggle up there breaking in a new O-line.
