SIAP. ... Dell McGee

What is the problem with the relationship between Mcgee and Auburn. It seems to me we at least should be getting higher interest from these prized recruits he is having. Does it go back to Fortner and the quarterback (don't recall his name) or what is the issue?

Auburn is currently the leader for one of the best defensive players to EVER come out of Carver, Gabriel Wright. Their other top player, RB Isaiah Crowell is simply more interested in other teams. Not because of anything to do with AU. BTW, Deron Furr was the QB that you were referring to, and I don't think that has any bearing on anything now.

There is no problem anymore.  Dell is a great guy and will not push any of his players here.  He will, though, let them know the many reasons that Auburn would be a great choice for them. He has been in contact with Chizik and staff a lot of late and is definitely "on board".  I will say this.  There are factors beyond his control that could potentially hurt us with some of these kids.   Let's just say that there are some shady characters "associated" with the Carver program.

J-S, glad you're back from pergatory.  This post let's me know why I anxiously await your input.

I agree with everything J-S said! Also, to add to the thing about Crowell not giving AU a chance... he was just at AU for Carver's team camp there (along with about two dozen other teams) back at the first of June. He talked to ITAT then about his feelings about AU...

Per Scout.com: “I don’t really know a lot about Auburn because I haven’t really been down there to hang out,” Crowell said. “I should get down there again soon though.

“Right now Alabama and Georgia are at the top,” he added. “There is no order for me it’s just Alabama and Georgia. I’m still just looking around.”

Sometimes players just DON'T FIT... period.

Well thank you, sir.  I've been busy trying to get my family settled in our new home in the Loveliest Village.

Dang, that's not fair.  A MOD on the best Auburn site ever, and now living in Auburn.  Can you tell I'm jealous?

Haha!  I have lived in Auburn on several occasions over the last 9 or 10 years.  It's always been my dream to move back for good and I believe this time it is.  WDE!

this is the truth.....

there is a "street agent" in that area that the kids like and trust, for some reason, and he has both hands out when "helping" these kids.

I hope we're able to sign more guys from Carver. We use to sign a bunch of them every year when coach Dye was our head Tiger.

OT, did your wife get a job up in Auburn?  Just curious since the last time we spoke.  I guess I won't see you at the Columbus-PC Auburn Club meeting on the 24th.

In regards to your original post, I had heard that before, just never knew it to be true or to have any substance.

Glad you all got settled in.

WDE!!!

Yeah.  She actually got a front office job at the new Publix store in Auburn.  I believe she told you that she's been working there since HS and we're hoping it has finally paid off.  She is still very interested in looking into the info that you sent me in that PM, though.  That may actually wind up being an even better opportunity for her.  Thanks again for helping us out with that.

Yeah, on the Auburn Club deal, I haven't really thought about it yet.  We'll probably wind up joining the Auburn Club here in Auburn I guess???
