CDeMon4AU 5
I have overheard many Auburn preseason predictions at the local restaurants, coffee shops, etc lately. Though I do agree with most that we have a favorable schedule to do well and better than last year. One thing stands out! In every prediction I have heard, when they breakdown the games, each say one similar thing. "Miss State should be an easy win". While I do believe Auburn will win that game, I do not believe it will be "easy"! Dan Mullen will have Miss State prepared. Am I the only one that is a little cautious with Miss State this season? WDE!!!
gr82b4au 5,583
While I do think it will be a hard fought game, we should win in the end. If we can't beat Miss St we will not have 7 wins this year. I think we win by 10.
WhiteTiger 2
We need to go into every game thinking that no game will be easy. If you show up in the SEC without your "A" game you will probably lose.

Bunn1 0
Nope, everyone should be, there are those who want to fool themselves into thinking this will be a cakewalk, but games 2-4 (Miss St, Clemson, South Carolina) will define Auburn this year. I hope they are right, but the game I saw last year was one dominated by MS St until late in the second. The only disadvantage this years MS St team may have over last years is at QB and RB. Of course, if Auburn looks in the mirror, we have new faces there as well. I look for this to be close early and if our Offense struggles to move the ball, look for a back and forth struggle. I do expect Auburn to come out on top this year, but you better believe that the bulldogs have this game circled on their schedules

Their DLine is big and nasty, weights go 265, 310, 330, 285. That Dline v our Oline will be a great battle to watch. They still dont have a qb. Thas has been theeir problem for years. In the end the speed of our O will wear down that big Dline and open hole in the run game.
mah0020 11
Like I've said in another thread, where is all this talk of us losing to State coming from? If we lose to them, we better hope for a 6-6 record and an invite to the Pizza Bowl. I do understand that some people think it's cocky to think we'll easily go in and win, but we should have some confidence in our boys. I think most of this mentality comes from the Tubs era where we could lose to anyone and beat anyone. Our team resembled this look last year, but I hope those resembled this look last year, but I hope those days are over.

My mom called me right after Auburn missed the extra point, and I said "Don't worry about it. Auburn's gonna score plenty of points and that one won't matter." Oops.... I watched in disbelief at that game. LONG drive home. That game is how CGC ended up at Auburn, it was the nail in the coffin. Without that humiliating loss, CTT would still be our coach. Just my thoughts. Kentucky last year was another, but CGC got a pass because it was his first year. If Chizik is going to last at Auburn, he has to beat the Mississippi State, Kentucky and Vanderbilts of the conference. Not to mention, Georgia, LSU, Arkansas & the turds. Make no mistake about it, and coach understands this, If he loses to State this year any momentum we have from recruiting will be lost and the chants of "5 & 19" will resume. He knows what is at stake and there will be no overlooking of MSU. We have better talent, so if we lose this one, bad things are on the horizon. Not to sound over confident but WE WILL NOT LOSE TO MSU.

The Duke 0
I believe that Auburn can out do them depth wise. Miss State has a great coach but they are much thinner than what they need to be to make it in the SEC. It will be a great first half, with Auburn pulling ahead in the 2nd. This^^^^ Auburn destroyed State last year with no depth and a brand new O (lead by Todd). Unless alot of turnovers happen (see arkmart the past 2 years), this game will not be close. I say Auburn wins by 17 or more.
3rdgen 2
Thursday night, on the road... I'm not going to assume anything. We were supposed to beat South Florida too. Remember that one? I remember that and it makes me sick with the ball with 1 mintue 30 seconds to go and we take a knee. I know cox had thrown ints but come on are we auburn or are we not. In my opinion that was the beginning of the end for tubbs playing not to lose instead of to win. This inferiority complex that seems to be becoming more pervasive everyday is disheartening. Expect to win and then win that is what we need to do. I hope we are done with this strategy of playing like we are afraid to lose instead of pulling out all the stops and going all out to win. walker77 0
Replacing Dixon on O and Chaney on D will be a major undertaking for M. St....they were the heart of their O & D. Plus they had some coaching changes...will mean change for the program = always time required to adjust... They may be improved overall, but AU is stronger at nearly every position across the board in at least our starters...possibly even in our 2-deep if some of the newcomers contribute... We will be favored to handily win this one because we should be stronger @ the beginning of the season than they will be ... and they will not have had time to make the adjustments required to play top level teams... Later on in the year it may be a little different for those who have to play them, in my opinion...
Holland's Fro 0
Stop the talk of "If we lose to State, we wont reach 7 wins". In 07, we lost to State (who was worse than they are this year) and ended the season with 9 wins. Miss St will surprise at least one of the top teams in the West, if not two this year

Bottomfeeder 244
I HOPE the attitude is "there are no easy wins, especially in the SEC". This MUST be the mentality of the Auburn Tigers in 2010 and beyond. Every game is different because every coach and players are different. We must realize to win that a plan must be worked to perfection for us to succeed. WDE!
StatTiger 3,188
Will Dan Mullen have his team prepared? I would say yes but... Will our coaching staff have Auburn prepared? No doubt. Which team has the most talent? Auburn So in theory, If Auburn has more talent and both teams are equally prepared, Auburn should win. This is not taking MSU lightly but simply looking at the game realistically. This is not to say MSU could not pull the upset but Auburn will be a much more focused team in 2010. They are dead serious about going from good to great. 8 wins wasn't enough for our Tigers and they truly want more.
tigerclaw78 0
The biggest negative against us will be having to play Miss. State so soon (5 days) after the Arkansas St. game. I think we should handle State (close at first then we pull away), but the quick turnaround could be a test. War Eagle!!

carter4au 0
I believe we have alot of tough games and you have to bring your A game every game in this conference. But we blow msu out!! close at the end of 1st but we put them away by end of 3!! auburn 45 msu 17. we had almost 600 yards last year. Mullen is a good coach but we have better athletes at every position and it will take 6 turnovers for us to lose that game. war eagle..
