Avoided surgery in HS hoping to heal on its own ?

Ligament strain or damage ?

Are we talking arthritis?

It would seem is he is having issues already this will not go away unless he lays off it or has surgery. I hope Gus will have another talented player shadowing him (Reed made plays) the best they can should he be held out of a game and/or injured later in the season.

War Eagle !

I heard it was a strained MCL dating back to shortly after he started playing QB for Thibodeaux.

Has he still been taking reps at practice?

Yes, hes been working along slowly, Taylor said hes been resting him, but that Trovon is healthy and he wants to go. They are taking their time, no need to rush things.

He will play in the opener and hes fine.

Im sure the trainers are taking excellent care of him... Trooper Taylor commented on his status saying that Trovon wants to get after it in practice, but went on to say that he trust's the trainers and they will make sure hes ready to go.

I know that Dyer is in favor of icing his knees, and I have heard references to Kobe Bryant icing his knees twice a day after games and practices.

Sometimes its just what you have to do, some people are more injury prone than others I suppose.

for what its worth, I ice my knees a good bit after I play ball, even if they arent sore.

from what i understand, he has been having soreness because he strained an MCL i think his junior year or something like that, or maybe it was his senior year.  The trainers and coaches are just airing on the cautious side on it and letting him rest.  i've had a similar injury and its just a little nagging.  Once it gets rested i couldn't really notice it, but you have to keep it loose.

I strained mine in week nine of my senior year then tried to play in week 1 of the playoffs and I just wasnt the same, but given time to heal properly he should be fine.

If what everyone is saying is true, then he hasnt been letting it rest according to this link.  They need to sit him on the bench until its time to play on saturday.

Yeah talk about ruining a whole season over being stubborn.  :(

I really hope that won't be the case. I'm really excited about seeing him in this offense. I am expecting him to pave the way for AU to be where every big time Senior dreams of playing. If he comes out and scores running, receiving, and passing from the wildcat,  it would have a huge impact on recruiting. It would make AU an contender for any HS athlete capable of playing multiple positions.

Time to calm down everybody.  We have these guys that work for us called doctors and trainers they know more about this than any of us and if they say he can play he plays and if they say he can't then he doesn't no matter what any coach, fan, or even the player himself thinks.

It was reported yesterday by Rivals that Trovon Reed fell on his knee after a catch and he bruised it.  Reed was quoted as saying that the bruise was on the same knee he tore his MCL but had nothing to do with the prior injury and he will be fine to play in opener.  Also Reed and Kodi are splitting time at wildcat spot.

FWIW, I had a knee with some ligament issues that healed up and then just last week I knelt down awkwardly on a pebble while pumping up the tires in my car and bruised it.  It hurt for a couple of days, but I plan on playing soccer for my team tomorrow night.

So if I can come back from that pebble-related injury, I feel confident about TR being full speed on Saturday.

;D

WDE!!
