Auburn Football: The best first half you have ever seen?

I have three nominations.

1. 1999 vs Georgia when Ben Leard threw for 416 yards and we stomped UGAY 38-21. Nothing could go wrong in the first half of this game... Ronnie Daniels was so dominate... yet UGAY continued man coverage on him.

2. 2004 vs Tennessee when we were up 31-3 at half time. The entire week all we heard about were the freshman phenoms from UT, Ainge and Schaeffer, it was Awesome to see Auburn go on the road and take care of business.

3. 2005 vs Alabama, honk if you sacked Brodie. Need I say more? One of the best defensive performances I have seen in my days of being a tiger. The 21-0 first quarter was amazing. I hope we see a few of those this year under the Gus Bus.

anyway, just wanted to see what memorable first halfs you guys have seen over the years, and which ones stick out the most?

Has to be 04 Tenn. I beleive that's the fewest times "Rocky Top" has been played in the history of Tenn football. I mean they played it at kickoff and you didn't hear it again all night. The Georgia game that year was another one.

In my years of watching Auburn football, that was absolutely the best half I've ever seen.

1999 LSU/Auburn game on the road.  We were there at the corner of the endzone on the front row and could have sat in a skybox in the second half if we wanted, that place was absolutely emptying out starting at the end of the first quarter.

That one came to my mind as well... that game changed the Auburn/LSU rivalry into what it is today, if you ask me.

I might have to say 2007 at Florida.  No doubt that the 2004 Tennessee half was amazing, but that day at the Swamp was impressive imo.

I have to go along with 2004 UT and 2005 Bammer. We really clicking on offense both of those games.

Others will not agree with this one but 2008 LSU was a great first half, at least for the defense. I just knew at halftime that there was no way we would not win that game and that we had a chance to "run the tables." Little did I know. . .

Still one of the best Auburn defenses ever... unfortunately we will know never the true potential of that group because they were on the field for so long and so beat up.

They were something special to watch through the first 6 games of the season, then it went down hill.

Hand's down, 2004 @ TN in the regular season.  I was at a Dallas sports bar with the DFW Auburn club and the TN club was in the next room.  They had to come by us to visit the  restroom.  One of their fans walks by, stops, backs up and says "You guys haven't figured out a way to score during halftime, have you?"  A moment I hope never to forget!  And, don't forget, they lost only 3 times that year... twice to us and once to Notre Dame.

Very close 2nd was "Honk if you sacked Brodie."

War Eagle... Let's have some more of those in 2010!

2004 UT and 1994 MSU. Eric Moulds returns the opening kick-off for a TD. It's called back. The rest is history.

That first half was perhaps the greatest defensive effort I've ever seen on the Plains.

For the 2000s, definitely '04 Tennessee and '05 Bama.  Don't forget that in '05, we were marching toward another TD in the second quarter when Prechae Rodriguez fumbled after gaining a first down.  Who knows what would have happened.  But they never stopped against Tennessee.

1999 Georgia was amazing too.  What was the halftime score?  I had cousins in town and I went to meet them for dinner.  They were not football fans, and when they told me the halftime score, I thought, man, they don't even know how to watch football on TV.  Turned out they were right!

I think it was 31-0.
